"The Dorm That Dripped Blood" sounds like one of the countless sorority house massacres, but this one doesn't have a bunch of big-boobed bimbos showing off their assets at the slightest opportunity. Actually, the ladies in this movie look less like starlets and more like the regular "girl next door". In a way, this works in the movie's favor since it adds a touch of realism, though someone expecting another "Evil Toons" or "Sorority House Massacre 2" is likely to be disappointed with "The Dorm That Dripped Blood". If you just want to see a good old-fashioned slasher, then this one isn't so bad. The atmosphere is quite good at times (particularly when the familiar power outage angle comes into play) and the death scenes are sufficiently gruesome for a horror movie. Most of its plot elements can definitely be found elsewhere, though. Like so many other slasher flicks, it too has a flamboyantly creepy man who naturally gets mistaken as the killer (played by what would be the winner of a Clint Howard lookalike contest). It too has the whole "let's move in and renovate this abandoned building" setup, and my stars, it even has a prankster as one of the characters! Nevertheless, this movie does throw in a couple surprises of its own. Most slashers don't have the killer trashing the dinner table while no one is looking, but this one does! As silly as that scene may sound, it does keep your attention fixed since the movie now has some explaining to do. And unlike "Stuff Stephanie in the Incinerator", this movie actually has someone being stuffed in an incinerator! Overall, it's a slightly above average horror movie, primarily recommended to slasher fans. |

OVERALL RATING
** NOTE: The more dots on the domino, the better the movie. 12 dots on the domino means the movie will have you on the edge of your seat because it's so capitivating. No dots means it will have you on the edge of your seat because you can't wait to leave. ** |
