Contrary to what the title suggests, there is only one evil toon in this picture, and you may be disappointed to find out that it only appears for a couple minutes. What should have been the star of the movie is reduced to a short-lived gimmick doing nothing different than the average monster. It's too bad because the possibilities are unlimited when the monster is a cartoon! While it rapes and possesses one of the female victims, it could have done so by getting in 500+ strokes per minute in some surreal position, but alas that perverted thought never comes to fruition. Cartoons could cause some very spectacular deaths too, but this notion doesn't get explored much either. Aside from the live-action animation and some brief appearances by Arte Johnson, David Carradine, and Dick Miller, there isn't much to distinguish "Evil Toons" from the other numerous sorority house/slumber party massacre movies, even though the script sporadically pokes fun at them. The bottom line: "Evil Toons" is just Charlie Brown average. If you're expecting a lot of animated mayhem, this movie will disappoint, but it may be worth your time if you can't rent enough horror movies with girls running around in their underwear. |

OVERALL RATING
** NOTE: The more dots, the better the movie. A dozen dots is as good as they get, while one or no dots accounts for what can euphemistically be labeled "bottom-of-the-barrel entertainment." ** |
