"Night of the Creeps" is an amusing medley of various horror movies, and it has everything from aliens to zombies. From the very first minute with funny-looking aliens and even funnier-looking subtitles, this low-budget film lets you know that it is not to be taken seriously. Some other silly yet surreal moments include the dog barking out parasitic slugs from its mouth, a bus driver's eyes popping out in a cartoonish way, and a girl trying to have a serious talk with her zombified boyfriend. For the most part, "Night of the Creeps" manages to integrate its wide variety of plot elements into a reasonably coherent story, though it feels as though it has included one element too many. Since virtually everything is borrowed from other horror films, it is quite possible to perceive "Night of the Creeps" as unoriginal, but actually it's a pretty good film paying homage to the whole horror genre in a campy, '80's-era kind of way. |

** NOTE: The more dots, the higher the rating. A dozen dots mean that the movie is a masterpiece while one or no dots mean you'll have more fun picking your nose with a scalpel. ** |
