PROM NIGHT III--LAST KISS

The demonic Mary Lou Maloney returns from the darkly humorous "Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night II" and so does the comedic flavor. This is not a horror film to be taken seriously, and the killer jukebox at the beginning should tell you where this movie is heading. The plot is more or less your typical boy-falls-for-evil girl story, though here the evil girl is causing some outrageous deaths like making banana splits out of dead teachers and then persuading her boyfriend to bury the bodies on the school football field. Eventually, she drags him down to Hell, though this brand of Hell does not look very hellish in the conventional sense (that is to say, full of fire and brimstone with demons flying around everywhere); instead, it looks more like a dilapidated night club. The ending (details withheld) makes the movie pointless (as if it had much of a point in the first place), and "Prom Night IV" does not pick up from there anyway.
The bottom line: "Prom Night III--Last Kiss" is about average overall, but it might be worth a view if you're in the mood for a zany horror film.

** NOTE: The more dots, the higher the rating. A dozen dots mean that the movie is a masterpiece while one or no dots means that the movie is about as much fun as kissing an electric fence. **
