SLUMBER PARTY MASSACRE III

Oddly enough, "Slumber Party Massacre III" is directed and written by a woman, and I have to question if this is really the sort of horror movie that scares women (or gratifies them because they get to see some bimbos die). Whatever the case, "Slumber Party Massacre III" is about a bunch of pretty girls who have a slumber party until a homicidal guest arrives. For a little while, the movie almost plays out like a mystery, but halfway through the film, they unveil the indentity of the killer, and for the remaining time, he chases the voluptuous victims around the house with a cordless power drill, which no doubt symbolizes the penis. By the way, the drill must have nuclear-powered batteries because it can run indefinitely in spite of its considerable size and power consumption. The killer is equally remarkable, and he too keeps going despite being bombarded with lamps, glass bowls, and mass quantities of industrial-strength household cleaner! The movie does not really clarify exactly why the killer is after these girls in particular, but who am I to quibble about the plot when it has a ditzy dame who kills herself while trying to jump through a glass door? To its credit as a horror movie, the deaths are pretty bloody, and to its credit as an exploitation flick, there is a fair amount of frontal nudity. Overall, it ranks about average, though it is not a bad choice for T&A matinee.

QUARTER BY QUARTER ANALYSIS OF MOVIE

OVERALL RATING

6 out of 12

** NOTE: The more dots, the higher the rating. A dozen dots mean that the movie is a masterpiece while one or no dots means that the movie is about as much fun as kissing a cactus. **
