"Stepfather III" is a predictable (but still okay) horror movie about a deranged daddy who is more than willing to kill for family values. There is quite a bit of dark humor in this movie, the bulk of which comes from the stepfather whenever he kills his victims and makes witty epitaphs about their deaths. Some of the deaths, including the one near the ending (details withheld), are fairly gory. Beyond that, however, this is a standard, paint-by-the-numbers movie where a single mom falls for the wrong guy, despite the seemingly paranoid protests from her son. The bottom line: "Stepfather III" is not a must-see, but it isn't terribly disappointing either. |

** NOTE: The more dots, the better it is. 11 or 12 dots indicates a masterpiece worth "throwing into the VCR" while no dots means it's a "disasterpiece" worth "throwing against the wall." ** |
