TOURIST TRAP

Usually a small museum full of mannequins does not make much of a tourist trap, but that changes when a lunatic is running the place. Veteran actor Chuck Connors plays the looney but delivers a hammy, over-the-edge performance, sounding like a homicidal hybrid between Carl from "Sling Blade" and Eeyore from Winnie-the-Pooh. Not surprisingly, a nice-looking group of teenagers end up crossing his path and are thus sequentially snuffed. All this may lull you into thinking "Tourist Trap" is just your typical, run-of-the-mill slasher flick, but there is a twist that unfolds near the end. I won't divulge the details, but the whacky ending should have you shaking your head in disbelief. The script and acting are nothing to write home about, but the film does have a good atmosphere to it. The bottom line: "Tourist Trap" is okay; it isn't so great, but it isn't so bad either.

QUARTER BY QUARTER ANALYSIS OF MOVIE

OVERALL RATING

6 out of 12

** NOTE: The more dots on the domino, the better the movie. 12 dots on the domino is the best rating while no dots means it would only take up valuable space in the dumpster. **
