Welcome to Cancun Central

I know this page is at least a year in the making. I really wanted to make this page something special. I wanted to find links to some of the places we went to, but unfortunately, a lot of the places we went to do not have an internet prescence. So, there's not much I can really show you about Cancun, but I'll do what I can to tell you about it. I haven't touched any of the following in a few months. It's all been there for a while now, but read about some highlights and enjoy. Also to find out more about my adventures, you can take the Cancun Quiz and also see Cancun Pics

(From December or so) I'm not going to be able to remember much, but I know one thing: It was the best week of my life. I have no problem saying that. I think this is one place everyone should go while they are in college. It was truly unreal. It was just a constant party with college kids from all over the United States. Cancun is paradise. Barring the Bahamas, Cancun has the most beautiful beaches. They have white sand and crystal, clear water. It's too bad I didn't do this sooner, because there are so many memories I'd love to share with you guys. But, I'll try to remember as much as I can.

  • The nightlife was unreal. My favorite place was La Boom. La Boom is a dance club, and we went there one night, and by far it was the best dance club I've been to.
  • Alcohol is such a staple of their society. Tequilla and Coronas are the area's finest. They have alcohol in malls. Even if you're not 18, they don't care. Everyone's shoving alcohol in your mouth. It's truly phenomonal.
  • Mexicans try to rip you off down there. They overcharge you for everything. You can talk down anyone down there. The best example is Domino's Pizza, we talked them down on a large pizza.
  • We stayed at the best hotel. We stayed at the Grand Oasis. They have the most beautiful pool there. It was huge, and they had a couple of swim-up bars. That's one of my dreams. To go to a swim-up bar. It was great. Just try to imagine it. A beautiful 100 degree day, hanging out in the pool, chilling with your girl, drinking yard glasses of frozen drinks, it's paradise.
  • Wet T-shirt contests constantly, and sometimes the girls got a little out of hand...
  • One night, we went to a place called Senor Frog's. That was a pretty happening place too. Packed as hell, but it didn't bother me. They played pretty much american music all night. It was good. Also, they have a huge slide in the building. They had contests, and the winners got to race and go down the slide. The only problem is, the slide emptied out into a lagoon outside the back of the building, and the water didn't look so good. Nothing beats a few yard glasses of frozen drinks and dancing at clubs. In the front of Senor Frog's, they have a few huge frog statues.
  • I got most drunk at La Boom when we went. La Boom has one room that's techno/dance and another room that was Top 40. We stayed in the techno side, and this was far and away the best club in Cancun in my opinion. I had many Long Island Iced Teas, and I think a shot or two of tequilla. I was pretty much plastered, but I didn't really notice until I got outside. Without the loud music and lights, I really felt the effects of alcohol. I thought I was going to lose it that night, but I made it back fine. Best night in Cancun, La Boom is great.
  • Another club that we checked out was Daddy O's. This was a club that split up into three rooms. We stayed in the room that played techno music and dance. It was an alright time there. It wasn't as good as La Boom's. They tried to have a ordered system to have drinks. You would get in a huge line, and order your drink. But, it ended up taking 10 minutes for a drink each time. Not quite worth it.
  • There's no shame when it comes to law enforcement either. Everyone goes around on buses that just run continuously all through the night. On one bus ride, our driver got pulled over a couple of times. Each time, he just reached for a handful of cash, went outside to meet the cop, and then he came back in, without the cash, and we left. That was pretty funny.
  • Another one of my dreams came true. I went to a foam party. I believe the place was named Up & Down. I had a great time there. It was madness, but Kara didn't like it at all. She kept getting foam in her eyes, and she couldn't see. Not a good time for her. Good time for me.
  • When Chris and I went for our cuban cigars, we walked on the beach. I noticed that the cops walked the beach a lot, and a lot of people that were doing "something" had to get up and go. So if you go to Cancun, watch out for that.
  • The total trip ended up costing around $1800 if you include the trip, the hotel, clothes, spending cash, alcohol, etc. But, if I had the money, I would go again. I also have to thank Kara, because if it wasn't for her, I probably wouldn't of ended up going. Thank you.
