8/12/01 6:46pm The Hall of Fame
(To be eligible for the Grip Sacs' Hall of Fame, you have to be a retired Grip Sac for 5 years, have to show great leadership on the lanes and off. And then the Grip Sac committee votes on whether to let you into the hall or not.)
Members:
Matthew Phinney - Inducted into the Hall of Fame in the year 2000. Matt has always showed the leadership qualities that we have always cherished. He still makes his appearances to help motivate the current Grip Sacs. As a teammate of his for many years, I've always enjoyed his comedic personality. His selfless nature on the lanes guided the Grip Sacs to many golden years. He is a great man and will always be remember for his greatness. It was my pleasure all those years to be teamed with him. Matt is well-deserving of this honor and will be in the Grip Sacs hearts forever.
Jon Pouliot - Inducted into the Hall of Fame in the year 2001. What can I say about Jon. He's the man that brought me into bowling. He's the man that was there in the beginning, helping to carry this team on his shoulders. I don't think I've ever laughed more than when I was bowling on the same team as Jon and Matt. It was a great time week in and week out. Pouliot does have a curse on him though. Matt and I remember the time that Pouliot could have brought home the first Grip Sacs' trophy, but the girl team got in his head, and he blew it. Two gutters in a row! He's the Bill Buckner of the Grip Sacs. All that aside, he put in many solid weeks of bowling that helped put the Grip Sacs on the ma. Jon is well-deserving of this honor and will be in the Grip Sacs hearts forever.
