Congratulations to our Champion, Sarah

I FINALLY finished Simpson's Trivia. This was truly one of the great competitions of our time, and I just wanted to thank everyone for playing. There are a lot of great Simpson's athletes on that leaderboard below, but none greater than Sarah. She persevered and had the most focus during this competition, and Pramas.com was lucky enough to get an exclusive interview with Sarah. The transcript from that interview can be seen below.

  • Pramas.com: 1) Miracle on Ice, Patriots winning the Super Bowl, The Immaculate Reception, these were all great, but nothing compared to getting past the most elite brains, the cream of the crop, the finest Simpson's minds out there. How does it feel?

  • Sarah: well it's been awhile since it ended but it's still a thrill to finally win something i'm good at. it took a lot of dedication as far as remembering to check daily for new questions and sometimes having to brainstorm the answers. it's been a good year and i'm happy to have won Simpson's trivia in the same year as the Patriots. while i had no idea when i first started playing that i'd win it all, i knew i'd finish in the top 5, but yeah i guess this was a big upset

  • Pramas.com: 2) How amazing is it that even though you started way behind everyone else, you managed to be so accurate and win it all?

  • Sarah: yeah i had no idea what melinda and kara were talking about when they'd mention these questions about the simpsons. then they directed me to pramas.com where i finally realized it all. i wasn't too far behind but it was getting the harder questions right that helped me pull ahead and eventually into the lead.

  • Pramas.com: 3) What do you attribute this victory to?? perseverance, watching Simpson's religiously?

  • Sarah: yeah when simpsons first came on, i was in the 2nd grade i think and my dad would have to tape it every week because i had to go to bed by 7 every night so i'd just watch it when i got home from school. and then that lead to a bart simpson "don't have a cow" t-shirt that my mom didn't like me wearing out of the house along with water bottles and teen bop magazine with bart pics on my wall at home. and i seemed to be one of the few that was into it til high school when everybody started to realize what a special show this was. i watch the reruns a lot more than i did before seinfeld went away four years ago so i have to contribute a lot of my simpsons knowledge to catching up on past seasons.

  • Pramas.com: 4) You truly had the eye of the tiger throughout this marathon of Simpson's Trivia, who is your hero, and what do you strive to be in your lifetime?

  • Sarah: i'd have to say my true heroes are the seinfeld gang, my mom and dad, god almighty, my cat tigger who always listens to what i have to say, homer, moe, barney, chief wiggums, apu, and my mentor, pat pramas. i hope all of these characteristics will shape me into a model citizen, and a hero to all the simpsonites out there.

  • Pramas.com: 5) There have been rumors running rampant about the possibility that you somehow cheated. Do you have any response to those conspiracy theorists?

  • Sarah: everyone always contests the leaders. first it was kara who couldn't take the pressure of it all. but i knew in my heart that i was just more poised to win this game and so i kept at it at all costs.

  • Pramas.com: 6) Sarah, I must thank you for participating in the Pramas.com Simpson's Trivia challenge. Any parting words?

  • Sarah: pat, thank you for allowing me to participate in this huge event. it was a pleasure every day trying to figure out answers to these sometimes awkward and random questions. some were difficult and forced me to take guesses. but i enjoyed the challenge of it all. i wish great luck to the next person who will share the honor of being a winner at simpson's trivia.

    Rules

Welcome to Simpson's Trivia. Here are the rules:

  • A Question a day will be asked. The final date is December 18th, that will be the 100th question, and then the game's over.
  • E-mail me or IM me the answer. Once the new question is up, you can't answer the old question.
  • Honors system. It would be easy to get the answers online, but it wouldn't be fun that way.
  • Questions have varying degrees of difficulty. The difficulty scale is from 1-5 with 5 being the toughest. Points are based on the difficulty of the question i.e. a question with difficulty of 1 is worth 1 point. A question with difficulty of 4 is worth 4 points...etc.
  • Person with the most points wins.
  • Thank you all for playing, and thank you Tim for the game that I am getting the questions from, Simpson's Trivia.
