5/16/02 4:13pm Finals Are Done...
Thank God. Today was my last final, and the misery has ended. What will soon go down as my worst semester in school is finished.
Last night, I tried to do the impossible. I tried to do what no man has done before. I attempted to get two months work of class memorized in one night. I had to read 250 pages before I went for my final today.
So, I get back from work at 10:30, and I begin. I used my own version of speed reading to get through the book. I performed the classic, look for the words in bold type and write down what they mean. I went into the wee hours trying to absorb the knowledge. I then did something I've never done before. In sheer desperation, I actually slept with my book under my pillow in a sad attempt to gain the knowledge through osmosis. It was a sad picture.
I woke up today, feeling better about myself, and then I proceeded to go, and do horrible on my exam. That's what I get for skipping two months of class. At least I'm done.
Star Wars Episode II comes out today. Woohoo. I definetely have to go check that out soon. Last time, a group of us went to see Episode I. This time, I had a chance to go to the Celtics game. If they lost on Tuesday, then I would have been going to Game 6 tonight at the FleetCenter. The Celtics ended up winning, so there is no game tonight, and now I have no ticket. But I will be seeing it soon. Let me know what you guys think of Star Wars Episode II. From what I've heard, it's a lot better than Episode I. I can't wait to see it. Later all.
5/13/02 5:41pm We Need Your Help...
Note: I know I haven't updated for over a month, and I thank you for coming back to me after all of this time and still checking for updates. I've missed you all very much. Where have I been??? First, I took a 8-day vacation with my family to Florida. Then, I went to the Star Wars Celebration for a few days in Indianapolis. Add to that, the last weeks of school, and a few hours at work, and I've been a busy man. Here are a few thoughts of what's been going on:
Very Quick Star Wars Report: Lando did not want to be there. Princess Leia has not aged well. Darth Vader, the man, not the voice, is one of the coolest celebrities I've met. Wicket, the ewok, (same guy who played as Willow), was also a nice guy. Chewbacca didn't like being there either. Ladies love Hayden Christensen. Lots of freaks dressed up and truly believe that Star Wars is real. A lot of stupid questions asked at the Q&A sessions with Lando and Hayden Christensen. Example: "Hayden, Did you get to pick the color of your lightsaber in Episode II?" "Lando, thank you for being here, how far in the hole were you that you wagered the Millennium Falcon, and lost it to Han?"
Big shout-out to my cousin Jason for checking in on the page. I haven't seen him in a little while, and he used my contact form and sent in this gem to once again show, what it means to be a Pramas:
Gee Pat,
Words cannot describe how overwhelmed I am at how you've done the family name proud.
Whether its drinking in Cancun, drinking in Florida, or drinking right here in Massachusetts, you have created a website that plumbs the depths of the Pramas psyche and reveals the truth for the all the net world to see: Pramas men like booze, chicks, wrestling and the Simpsons--not necessarily in that order.
I'm a little misty-eyed right now, but after I've recovered I fully expect to see a picture of me in the George and Julie wedding photo section, or I'm gonna be really pissed off.
Regards,
Jason
I think when I tell my mother about my dismal grades, I'm going to do it something like this: "Yeah, I may have failed two classes, but I'm a hell of a basketball player now." It's true, I've played so much basketball the last two months. This is the best I've ever been.
After my mother bitch slaps me for my grades, I will probably cry like a little girl. Not good times.
I've been watching a lot of judge shows lately, and these people never learn. Why do people continue to speak-out when they're not spoken to. But, nothing beats the comedy of Judge Judy snapping at them, "Was I talking to you? Shutup, Do not speak in my courtroom?"
Many years ago, sometime in my high school days, Rob and I invented something special. It was a Smart Sound system for your cars. It would turn up or turn down the volume of your radio based on many factors, including: speed, whether the windows were open or not, a gauge measuring internal noise, such as a whiny, bratty kid. We created this child, and the Man took it away from us. Our rental in Florida, an Oldsmobile Alero, had smart sound, but it was only based on the speed of the car. So, I would set the volume of the radio when we got in the car, and then as soon as we sped up, it would get too loud and I would have to turn it down. If we stopped at a light, it would be too low, and I would have to turn it up, etc. So while the Man has invented it, Rob and I are busily working on ways to perfect it.
I apologize to Derek Lowe and his family. Way back in Week 1 of Pramas.com, I blasted him for sucking. He was horrible last year. This year, he's unreal. He threw a no-hitter this year. That is an amazing accomplishment, and he is a solid number 2 starter. He's a huge reason, the Sox are the best in the game right now. I will never say a bad thing about Derek Lowe again. Pramas.com loves Derek Lowe.
Now back to the reason we are here today. Kevin needs help from the great Pramas.com readers out there. Kevin has come to Pramas.com for advice and guidance. Kevin is in a little pickle. Katie and I had a relationship a few years back. You may have your own opinion, but I think I'm a pretty nice guy. No matter how nice I was, or how friendly, Katie's father, who we lovingly refer to as "Big Al" never liked me. He never gave me a chance. He hated me from Day One. I never understood it. So now Kevin, who now faces a similar situation is having Big Al problems. Big Al seems to have even more hatred towards Kevin than he did (or still does) to me. Apparently, Big Al has given his daughter, Katie, an ultimatum, either she stops seeing Kevin, or she is forced to move out of her house. I was originally going to write a poll question on what Kevin should do, but it's really not his choice, so I'm going to instead ask my readers out there one question: What Should Katie do?
Thank you for your time, and I'll be updating a lot more than I have lately. Later everyone,
---Pat
