History:

In the beginning a small disc jockey service was started in the city of Oneida in Upstate New York..  Phonix Sound eventually gained much success due to the hard work of many people!  In February of 1986,  My best friend Chris Rong and I started a disc jockey service due to our love for music and popularity among the girl population.  Chris and I attended a junior high school dance where a local disc jockey played the music.  The girls flocked to him like there was no tomorrow. The music sucked, but everyone was still having a good time.  After that dance, we vowed to start a service that would wipe him out!  In 1986, we did our first dance at a local elementary school with equipment that sucked, but everyone had a good time.  A few months later, we gained more events and took the profits and put it back into equipment and music. We established a steady customer base with the Durhamville Boy Scout Troop 142 and did many weddings and parties.  In 1988, the Kallet Civic Center hired us to play at a teen dance.  We drew over 300 people from all different schools.  What an event!  That established us with The Kallet which I played for many years.  Eventually schools in the area called our service to do school dances.  With the help of friends like Chris Rong, Daryl Davis, Joe Mather, Ray Bartholomew, Gary O'Herin, Marty Goodfellow, Steve Cosimeno, and my family Dad, Mom, Annette, Gigi, and Mary, Phonix Sound became a booming success! The other disc jockey service went out of business! Other services came along and couldn't compete! Through the years of 1986 and 1994, Phonix Sound performed at hundreds of events.  In 1992, I met my wife Jackie and we kept the business going in New York until February of 1995. We relocated to Tampa, Florida and had to start all over again.  It has been tough, considering the size of Tampa and the competition. We managed to pull off some events here such as car shows and weddings. I started the digital recording service after a talented young lady asked us to produce a CD for her.  With much success, Kristy and I produced a killer CD!  We even had a outdoor concert to promote the CD. May of 2000, I joined Clear Channel of Tampa Bay as a radio personality. Using my Uncle's name as a radio name. Thanks to the real Bud Money for his namesake.  In March of 2003 after the death of my Mother, we moved back to Central New York to be close to our family. I spent a year with Clear Channel of Syracuse with B104.7 until I was hired by Regent of Watertown at Froggy 97. Phonix Sound is now finding its roots in NY if you need service just call us or email us.
