The First Scott Caan Homepage

2000 Updates

November 27th 2000

First of all, I have to apologise for not updating for quite a while, I am very sorry! So I'd better get on with the update....

As usual, my trusted news source, Natalie "Scoop Queen" has informed me of some information regarding 'American Outlaws'. An official site has been set up and you can find the link on the Filmography page. It is a simple site at the moment, but it does contain some great pictures from the film. I have added these pics to the newly created American Outlaws pictures page, if you'd like to check them out there. According to upcomingmovies.com, the release date for the film in the US is May 18th 2000. A short behind the scenes movie file from the set of the film can be found here, on the movieconnect.com site. Scott isn't in the piece, but is is interesting viewing nonetheless, as you get a glimpse of what the film will look like.

Other news is that again according to upcomingmovies.com, the release date for 'Novocaine' is March 2001. Speaking of release dates, 'Ready to Rumble' just got released here in the UK, but unfortunately is only getting a limited release, which is disappointing, as I think is it an enjoyable and funny film.

As for additions to the site, I have added two interviews from Interview magazine and they can be found via the Articles page. One article is actually by Scott, where he is interviewing the very talented actor and his 'Varsity Blues' co-star, Paul Walker. Also added are some pictures of Scott at film premieres, which appear on the Miscellaneous pictures page.

If anyone has any news about Scott's upcoming film releases, please feel free to e-mail me.

October 1st 2000

A brief update today, starting with the pictures that I've added to the Miscellaneous pictures page. These are taken from the September issue of Harper's Bazaar and feature photos of Scott and other models as well as two co-stars of Scott's, Timothy Olyphant (Gone in 60 Seconds) and Vin Diesel (Boiler Room). Thanks to Sonya for pointing these pictures out to me. Natalie, the "Scoop Queen", has informed me of a couple of release dates for Scott's films. According to upcomingmovies.com, 'Novocaine' is expected for a March 2001 US release. This of course can change, but it's nice to know at least a preliminary date. Also, the US release date for 'Gone in 60 Seconds' for rental and DVD has been announced for December 12th (just in time for Christmas!) Thanks to Natalie for the info. The UK DVD and rental release date for 'Boiler Room' is tomorrow, October 2nd.

Other news is that according to the IMDB website, the title of 'Jesse James' has now been changed to 'American Outlaw'. I'm unsure if 'Jesse James' was just a working title or not.

If you come across any news regarding Scott's films, please don't hesitate to e-mail me.

September 3rd 2000

As promised, I've revamped the site. Not a lot of it's different, I've obviously changed the style of the site, but the same old infomation is here. I've changed different sections of the site so that Interviews and Quotes now appear under the main link of Articles and the Sounds page is now under Multimedia/Links. I hope you like the new look site, and I'd love to hear your thoughts and opinions.

Onto the news, and as you may have noticed, the big news is that I've found out that Scott once was part of a rap group called 'Whooliganz'. If you missed that, you can find the page with all the information here. I have also added some pictures to the Miscellaneous pictures page, one is a picture of the poster for one of Scott's earlier films 'Starstruck'. I have also updated the Filmography page to include a link to a page I found which contains more information on the film.

To the Links page, I've added a link to the icast website, to an interview with David Arquette and Scott about 'Ready to Rumble'. Thanks to Natalie for pointing that out to me.

That's all I have to update with for the moment, if you come across any news or information on Scott, please e-mail me and I'll credit you with the information.

August 13th 2000

Well it's time for another update and it's a brief update again, I'm afraid. I know I sound like a broken record at the moment, but I promise there will be a big update and revamped site VERY soon, so please keep checking back. For the time being, there are a few items of news to share with you.

It's time to head to the local video store in the next month as both 'Black and White' and 'Ready to Rumble' are released. 'Boiler Room' is already out now, but 'Black and White' is released September 26th and 'Ready to Rumble' on September19th. If you're lucky enough to own a DVD player, the DVD of 'Ready to Rumble' promises a commentary featuring Scott, alongside David Arquette and Ahmet Zappa, so that should be interesting to hear! I'm looking forward to seeing that movie, as it still hasn't hit UK shores yet. Thanks to Natalie (Scoop Queen!!) for the heads up!

Staying on the UK front, 'Varsity Blues' is released on DVD and video on September 4th. 'Gone in 60 Seconds' opened here August 4th, and went straight to number 1 in the box office charts.

I have also added a new picture to the Gone in 60 Seconds pictures page, so follow the link to see that.

For now, that's it, but I hope to have the new site up next weekend, so fingers crossed!

July 9th 2000

First of all, I have to make a huge apology for not updating for so long. I know I shouldn't make excuses, but I have been short of time of late. So I'm very sorry, but I do have a quick update for today.

'Gone in 60 Seconds' opened at the top spot on it's opening weekend in the US, which was great news. It is currently at no. 8 in the box office charts. I have added a few pictures of Scott at the premiere for the film, so head on over to the Miscellaneous pictures page to take a look at those. It seems that Reelpreviews.com has now changed their site and removed the interview with Scott, so I've removed that link too.

Unfortunately, that's all I've got for now, but I plan to do a huge update very soon, with hopefully a retuned site, so please check back for that.

May 14th 2000

Just a quick update today, and to start off with, more great news for Scott. Thanks again to 'Scoop Queen' Natalie, who lead me to the news that Scott has just confirmed another role, according to Variety and other news sources - Scott Caan and Ali Larter (Varsity Blues) have committed to "Jesse James" an action comedy for Morgan Creek/Warner Bros. Starring Irish import Colin Farrell in the titular role. Larter will play James' girlfriend, while Caan will take on Cole Younger, who battled James for control of the James-Younger gang. We can expect to see this next year.

'Boiler Room' opened here in the UK last week and entered the box office at no. 11, which is a great opening considering that not all cinema chains were showing the film. I got to see the film and enjoyed it immensely, it was such a well thought out film, very gripping and the entire cast shone in their roles. Speaking of 'Boiler Room', I have added on the pictures page, the UK poster, which varies from the US version.

I'm still working on getting those sound files done and the changes on the page, so still keep checking back.

April 30th 2000

Sorry for not updating for a while, but trust me, I have a lot to update with, so I'd better just get on with it....

First of all, I'm thinking of changing the look of the site in a while, so if you have ideas of what you might like to see on the site, please e-mail me. I have to apologise for some of the broken links on the page recently, I've just changed how I upload this site, and have just realised that I wiped off half of last years news items, so I'm just a tad annoyed, but oh well!
As you may have noticed by the link on the front page of the site, Reelpreviews.com has now put on the site their exclusive interview with Scott. It is a great interview, very amusing. You will need Windows Media Player to watch it, so if you don't have it, you could download it by following the links on the Reelpreviews page.

Thanks goes to Natalie, who alerted me to the news of Scott's next role. According to the Hollwood Reporter - "Scott Caan has signed to star opposite Steve Martin and Helena Bonham Carter in Artisian Entertainment's "Novocaine". In the black comedy about an unassuming dentist (Martin) who finds himself a murder suspect. Bonham-Carter will be Martin's duplicitous patient and Caan her hot tempered and abusive brother." This is great news for Scott, it sounds like another high profile role.

'Ready to Rumble' opened at no. 6 and 'Black and White' at no. 11 on their opening weekends, which are both impressive placings. I have seen a couple of interviews with Scott about 'Ready to Rumble', on CNN and a show called 'Hollywood Buzz' made for the UK, so I will create some sound files of the interviews. Also, CNN have named Scott one of their 'Stars of Tomorrow' and talked to him about his recent roles. I will make a sound file of that too, which I'll add to the site soon. On the subject of 'Ready to Rumble', Bif Naked has released a single from the soundtrack entitled 'We're Not Going To Take It'. If anyone has seen this video, Scott and David Arquette as well as some of the cast appear to be in the video. Since I haven't seen the film, I'm unsure if it's just cleverly edited footage from the film placed in the video, or the actors actually came back to film for the video. If anyone can tell me, I'd much appreciate it.

'Gone In 60 Seconds'' official site has now gone live, and it's a great site. Very flashy with lots of pictures and information. For the link, please got the the Filmography page. It seems Touchstone are already heavily plugging the film, as the trailer is now playing in front of both 'Mission to Mars' and 'Scream 3' here in the UK. And on the subject of UK shores, 'Boiler Room' is released this Friday, 5th May, so I'm straight down to the cinema this weekend!

On the website, I've have updated a few pages. I've added a picture from the 'Boiler Room' premiere party, taken from the April edition of Movieline magazine, and that's on the Miscellaneous pictures page. Added to the 'Ready to Rumble' pictures page are a few more pics, and I 've created a new page for the 'Gone In 60 Seconds' pictures.

Phew! Well it's taken me quite a while to add all this stuff to the site, so I'm going to finish the update now. I'll be adding the sound files from the interviews very soon, so please check back to see that!

April 3rd 2000

Well, this is the big week for Scott' films, with 'Black and White' opening in two days time, and 'Ready to Rumble' opening Friday. I hope all the lucky people that live in the US have got their tickets, and make these films score high at the box office! It's unclear when theses films are being released internationally, so if anyone would like to send in spolier-free reveiews, I love to hear them and post them up for people to read.

More news is that Scott has been nominated for 'Breakthrough Perfomance '99 - Male' for 'Varsity Blues' at the Young Hollywood Awards, held by Movieline magazine. You can go and vote over on the site, by this link. It looks like you have till April 24th to get the votes in, and it seems like you can vote as many times as you like (hint, hint, say no more!!) I'll try and find out when the actual awards take place and if they're televised.

I've updated today with quite a few pictures. I've created a new pictures page for 'Black and White', there aren't that many pictures at the moment, but I hope to add some soon. You can find that here. Added to the 'Ready to Rumble' pictures are two more pics, so go check those out here. On the Miscellanous pictures page, I've added a picture from the 'Boiler Room' premiere, taken from the TeenMovieline site, and a picture from the YMS site (it looks like it was taken from a magazine, can anyone tell me which magazine it's from?)

That's all I have to update for now, keep your eyes peeled for premiere footage and interviews in TV, and get those votes in!

March 26th 2000

First of all, I have to apologise for not updating for so long, but there is partly a reason. I have had trouble with Geocities, I couldn't connect to their server, therefore I couldn't make any changes. Believe me, I am very annoyed, but it now seems like the problem has been fixed so I can update. Unfortunately, that means that some of the news I was going to update with isn't "news" anymore, but most of it is still relevant. A big thanks to Natalie, who posted an update for me on the message board (I had trouble with the board as well), the update is basically the same as follows.

According to a press release, Scott appeared on MTV on Friday 24th March as part of MTV's Spring Break 2000. Here is the details as stated in the press release - MTV's Spring Break Celebrity Stripdown'' (4:30PM) -- Hosted by Ahmet Zappa, celebrities face-off in a friendly game of poker, Spring Break style. ``Ready to Rumble's'' David Arquette and Scott Caan put on their poker faces against Tara Reid and Natalie Raitano. (For more details, follow this link: http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/000317/ny_mtv_spr_1.html) It sounds very interesting so if anyone would like fill me in on what happens I'd appreciate it, since I don't know if MTV here in the UK will air the show.
There are two new websites dedicated to 'Black and White' now up, you can find the official site link over on the Filmography page, and there also a promotional site being run over at Checkout.com, which you can find here.

Also, keep a look out on the Reelpreviews site, as I received an e-mail from the host and producer of the site, who was kind enough to tell me that he was going to be interviewing Scott for his site. So be sure to check the site out. It features a link about 'Ready to Rumble' as well.
Last but by no means least, the release date of 'Ready to Rumble' has been pushed a week forward and will now be released on April 7th, and for the record, 'Black and White' is released two days earlier, on the 5th.

February 19th 2000

As you all must know, 'Boiler Room' is out now in the US, so I would love to hear any spoiler free reviews of the film. I'm thinking of adding a reviews section, so if anyone has anything to input to that, I'd be grateful.

I've gone and added a ton of pictures to the site. The 'Ready to Rumble' website is now up, and you can find the link over on the Filmography page. I've created a 'Ready to Rumble' pictures page which you can find here. I've also added pictures to the Varsity Blues pictures page and to the Miscellaneous pictures page, the picture from the Movieline article. I now have a scanner, so I now will be able to add more pictures as necessary. If anyone spots any interviews with Scott regarding 'Boiler Room', please let me know.

February 4th 2000

I have quite a big update to get through today, so I'm going to head on straight away...First of all, there is an interview with Scott in the February issue of Movieline magazine. I have copied the interview, and you can find that on the Interviews page. There is a picture to go along with the article, but I don't have access to a scanner, so if anyone is able to scan it and send it to me, I'd be very grateful. Also, on the magazine front, Natalie tells me Scott appears with the rest of the 'Boiler Room' cast in the new GQ magazine. Again, if anyone could do me a favour and transcribe the article and scan pictures, I'd be sure to give you credit. Thanks goes to Natalie for the heads up.

I have also created a new pictures page for 'Boiler Room', where I have a few pictures already up.
It seems that we are upon "The Spring of Caan", as Natalie put it, as there are three of Scott's films coming out this season in the US. I thought I'd run through the release dates so everyone's up to speed. 'Boiler Room' is released February 18th, 'Black and White' is released April 12th, follwed closely by 'Ready to Rumble' two days later. Then of course, not too long after that, 'Gone in 60 Seconds' hits cinemas on June 9th. It can be possible that release dates change though, so check your papers or magazines, or here, even!

The website for 'Boiler Room' is now properly up and running, and is well worth a look. It is very well done, they have guised it as an actual stock website, but along the films content.
Last but not least, Scott appeared at the premiere of 'Next Friday' and you can see a picture over on the Miscellaneous pictures page.

January 10th 2000

For those who have access to the E! channel, they may want to keep an eye out for an event celebrating the "Sizzlin Sixteen 2000", of which Scott is included. It is taking place Tuesday 11th January. It may be possible that they air parts of the show, or have interviews showing on the channel. For more information please follow this link http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/000110/ca_e_onlin_2.htmlif anyone sees anthing to do with this, please let me know!
