Robin Williams-
TV and other Acting
As mentioned in Robin's biography, the first acts Robin put on were in nightclubs across the United States. From these early comedy routines arose the humor of the famous man we all now know. His first big break came when he won the part of Mork on "Happy Days"; this initial episode earned him such rave reviews and a fan following, that an entire series, "Mork and Mindy" was built from this character. It was here that Robin initially showcased his talent to a worldwide audience; an audience that quickly embraced his wild comedy. "Mork and Mindy" was on the air for four years, beginning in 1978, and was immensely popular.
After Robin's movie career took off, he still did not abandon stand-up comedy; he has performed at comedy festivals around the world, and his performance "Live at the Met", recorded and released as a CD, won him a grammy. In May of 1997, Robin Williams and Billy Crystal appeared on the hit TV series, "Friends", - a hilarious episode. As well, Robin hosted an episode of the PBS series, "In the Wild"- Robin searched for wild dolphins in the Carribean. Obviously, one need not see a movie in order to view Robin's talent- reruns of "Mork and Mindy" are still played around the world, 'vintage' Williams at its best!
