Summertime..Monday, May 3.School concluded almost a week ago for me. Exams weren't that bad but they could have gone smoother. Nevertheless, my dues have been paid and now I can enjoy the summer. The family came up on Friday to bring all my stuff back home to Windsor. It wasn't a pretty sight-- when they arrived I was still packing my things. (It's a long story-- going out two nights in a row and partying with my friends...) Lucky I had some help and so it wasn't as bad. We went uptown to do some shopping as well as eat some lunch. The drive back wasn't too bad-- we left in the middle of the afternoon to avoid the huge rush hour traffic. How do people in Toronto stand driving around? I would go crazy... My bro took the first half; I drove the second half. A pretty fair arrangement-- no cops around so I cruised down the 401. The weekend... Man, did I do so much stuff! I was expecting to loaf around the house and catch up on sleep that I have missed over the course of a week but instead I did the opposite. Cleaned up both cars, mowed the lawn, and worked on the computer. Still have more work to do! This week: I look forward to unpacking the rest of my stuff and putting the necessaries into a suitcase. Why? I'm headed to the Far East on a 2-3 week vacation to China. Haven't been back since '92. I'm a little anxious to see what new things China has to offer. Tuesday, May 4.I had to get up early today. Not only did I stay up to play TombRaider 3 last night, I had to run a few errands. I was not a happy camper today. For lunch, my mom prepared a dish I haven't had in many years. It was my paternal grandmother's signature dish. It was a pretty good replica but it was missing the 'fishy' taste my grandma used to make. Later on this afternoon, I'm supposed to hit the driving range with my friend, Mike. Haven't seen him in about a month. Should be nice to go outside in the great weather we're having. Finally it's starting to feel like summer!!! Friday, May 7.Did I do a whole lotta scanning today! Feeling disgusted that I haven't touched this page in a while, I had the urge to share with the world some more about me. Check out my digital anthology. Not only do I have this page of thoughts and revelations, I now have pictures from the past and present. Getting a little further in TombRaider 3 but still have much more to go. Watched Dawson's Creek tonight on Global. More of the la-dee-dah stuff. When will Dawson and Joey (my fave) hook up? Quit with the foreplay and let's get it on! (My guess is that the deflowering episode will be the season finale...) |
Back from the MotherlandFriday, May 31.Yup-- back from my 2 week vacation. That's in case you didn't hear from me or I didn't tell the people I am in direct contact with. The trip to China was really good-- saw some of the sites that I missed the first time around (1992). In retrospect, I have to say I underappreciated the places I visited last time. I revisited many cities and didn't realize what special things each city offered. The history was so important. Guess I'm more appreciative of such things. In the past couple of days, I've tried to bring myself back to reality-- making sure my job for the summer is all worked out, making sure the priorities are all settled (like paying my phone bills and checking to see if I owe anybody else!), and just become accustomed to local time (still suffering the effects of jet lag). I've also done some HTML coding and picture scanning such that I can post my China trip for you all to read. It's still in the rough and I have yet to write the last chapter or two so the write up doesn't sound complete. I've posted what I have done so you can get an early start. What else have I done so far? I managed to make it to the driving range today. Max and Jenni made it down to Windsor from T.O. to attend a wedding (their wedding is coming up this fall!) Before they left, a bunch of us old Massey alums had to do something. I vetoed the idea of tennis in such extreme sun and heat but agreed to hitting golf balls. While practising our shots, Max some how broke the graphite shafts of one of Jonesey's clubs-- his favourite 5 wood. Max was so pissed off-- the club head flew out into the field! The people at the centre said it happens almost daily and they'd pick it up when they retrieve the golf balls later in the day. Max will pick up the tab for a replacement club shaft. Weird A couple more friends from out of town came by today to pay me a visit. Tim is up from Purdue and Janet is back from school. Haven't seen the two of them, respectively, in a while. We just sat back and talked it up. They were concerned by my lack of rest and left rather early. Although it was a short visit, it was nice to see them. Monday, May 31.I got up early because my stomach was grumbling (in that bad, I need to go way...) Feeling much better afterwards, I went online and fixed up this page as well as upgrade my version of Netscape to the newest one. I really like their new SmartUpdate feature-- only needing to download the necessary components versus downloading the whole darn thing over again! |
