School starts soon...Wednesday, September 2.I can't believe it's September already. It wasn't too long ago I was saying goodbye to Toronto and heading back home for a nice (or so I thought) long summer vacation. And where are we now? It's freakin' September! At least I am glad to say that I did accomplish plenty this summer-- got to travel abroad (see my China '99 journal) as well as domestically (I went to New York a couple times last month). I worked in a pharmacy and had a chance to brush up on my counselling technique as well as learn more about medications. (Work only put a small dent in my fees for next year-- I hate being in debt!) The summer also gave me a chance to catch up with my buddies in town. Went golfing yesterday (finally!). The score was in the double-par range (embarrassing) but I still managed to have a good time. Weather was absolutely gorgeous-- that helped things A LOT (I hate standing out in the sun for extended periods of time) |
The next few days should be interesting. Going to the car dealership to test drive a new Volvo. My mom has plans to dump the old heap and trade it in for a new one. I drove a new one a couple years back and let me tell you-- it was night and day difference in driving capabilities. So I am very optimistic at how well the '99 (or 2000) models will perform. Friday should be good. Going out with the guys to make up for Tuesday's poor show at the links-- going out for 9 holes of fun. My pharmacy friends from Toronto will be coming down to Windsor to pay me a visit. That has great potential to be a riot. With all the leisure time I have had, I still have to keep in mind that I have to pack the remainder of my stuff for school as well as pack my stuff for the vacation to Alaska. Yep-- I'm going on an Alaskan cruise for a week with my folks. Only heard good things about it so I'm getting all psyched up for it! |
