Somewhere someone is calling for you

Work is still going forward on the former site of the Swiss Family Treehouse. Some branches returned, including a tall new one occupying the former location of the Robinson's Bedroom. As work continues, the Annual Passholder News included a short paragraph about Adventureland's newest adventure. Much like it's predecessor, the Tarzan Treehouse will be a climb through adventure- more than just a mere Meet and Greet area. (Which is great news for everyone). The latest gossip from the rumor mill explains that a second tree will come to Adventureland; one that is burnt out and ancient. It is here that your adventure will begin. Climbing inside, guests will cross a suspension bridge to Tarzan's Treehouse, where they will interact with statues of the characters while exploring the big T's jungle home. When more information on the subject comes to light, be it construction news, or confirmation on the permanent demise of the Swiss Family Treehouse, you'll find the information here at OPD!

"But Peter, how do we get to Never Land?":

Never Land Soon, at the Disneyland Hotel, the boy who wouldn't grow up might just answer "Why you SWIM of course". Again, thanks to the Annual Passholder News, we have some more insight on the renovation. Still scheduled for a Summer 1999 opening (although the strange wintery weather SoCal has been having might slow down the work) One Cast member even told me "Oh you won't be seeing that till Sept." Never Land lagoon will showcase Hangman's Tree (Peters Hide Out), the Misty Mountains, and a thrilling 100 foot long water slide. The nearby spa, themed after beautiful Mermaid Lagoon, will feature it's own bathing mermaid statue. And, coming with the new pool, guests will finally have a large, Mickey shaped recreational lawn for picnics, frisbee throwing, or anything else they might desire.

Correcting an error from the last news update: The Disneyland hotel had an outdoor pool area before this construction project, and it still remains in use today. The Never Land project is removing the popular marina area (which means no more paddle boats), finally adding a pool large enough to satisfy its guests and that has more of a Disney theme.

Once Again, the Nights at Disneyland are Fantasmic!:

Fantasmic Starting on April 5th, the Rivers of America started to shine again as Fantasmic returned. Unlike the rumors circulating around the internet, the show is still the original; proving that you don't mess with perfection. Prior to the first showing, the crowd was buzzing about the return of the Mark Twain and the Sailing Ship Columbia. But it was a few enhanced effects, improved sound, and a flawless show that had them talking afterward.

Welcome back Fantasmic- we've missed you.

Welcome to the All new OPD. My name is Eric and I will be the new Webmaster. Why am I taking over you ask?? Well Mr. Liver who has been the Webmaster of this site has not updated since January. So Jeremy Riney the owner of the site gave me the ok to start working on it. You may think this site looks pretty sad compared to the old one that Mr. Liver ran. Well the old one will get working in a few weeks. I would have waited till about May to open the page but I think four months is long enough.

Tarzan Picture As you all know the classic Swiss Family Robinson Tree House is being torn down to make way for a new Tarzan Meet and Greet area. (Tarzan is going to be Disneys big movie out this summer). Many people are mad about this because a classic part of Disneyland is being torn down. I belive that it will be good if!!!! IF!!! They put a lot of Money into it. As of right now all of the leaf's have been torn off the tree. The movie is to come out on June 15 but I don't know if they will have it all done by then. Look for more news on this soon!

New Tomorrowland Each year Disneyland always has something new and exciting for its guest. In 95' Indiana Jones Adventure In 96' We said good bye to the MSEP. In 97' Light Magic came out (and left). In 98' a New Tomorrowland and in 99'... Still stuck on the New Tomorrowland. All of the Southern California Destination 1999 booklets (that most travel companys use) are telling the soon to be guests that Tomorrowland is the newst and greatest thing around. And with the Tarzans Tree house not opening till Mid Summer it look like the Tomorrowland is the newst thing around.
