Ton's of Great info on the new 45 Year's of Magic Parade. Get the first "inside" news on the new Firework show. No smoking and Changes at hand for OPD?

45 Year's of Magic

This year to help tie in the 45th Anniversary Disneyland has made a new Parade "45 Years of Magic".
The main theme of this parade (and the whole 45th Birthday) is the Disney Characters. So don't be suprised to see Characters like Peter Pan, Flik, Meeko and Bernard in the parade or just walking around the park.
Each of the float's are themed with cloud's. The cloud's make it seem they are floating in the sky. From what I have heard this should be a Wonderful Parade
There will be eight float's including
The Blue Fairy, a Swan Boat with three Princess inside , The Little Mermaid, Belle's Rose float, The Lion King with Simba , Tarzan with Tantor Plus the whales from Fantasia 2000.
Disneyland guests will also be able to interact with the parade. (Not sure in what way's yet)
This Parade was Created by Jean Luc Choplin I believe he also did Mulan (but not sure). The Parade is planned to begin on February 18, 2000.

Believe there's Magic in the Star's

For years Fantasy in the Sky has delighted Disneyland Guests. But this year a all new firework show has been created. Believe their's Magic in the Stars. Many questions have arose due to this new show. What Music will it have? Will Tinker Bell still fly from the Matterhorn? Well as of right now I do not know the music. But I will tell you what I know about Tinker Bell. She still will fly down but at the first around the Castle you will see Tink as a ball of light then she will fly down from the Matterhorn. I have heard from people inside the park that this will be the best Fire Work show in all four parks. It is much more moving then the Fantasy in the Sky show.

The Disneyland Clean air Act say's "Please No Smoking"

That's right starting January 31st 2000 there will be No Soming in the park except in these four areas.
~Outside the main gate. (So this really isn't even in the park)
~ Near the Back of Big Thunder Trail (by the Festival areana)
~ Spanish Fountain in New Orleans
~Upper level of Plaza Pavillion
I personally am glad they are cutting back on smoking. I always hated when someone would light up at the Parade route, Fantasmic or in a line. Thank you Disneyland.

Wind's of Change at OPD

I am right now in the process of opening up a whole new GAINT part of our site. This new section will almost Double the sites size. I am also fixing all the old part's of the site to return OPD to it's true Beauty. Keep checking over the next few Week's for
Major Changes.

New firework show, 45th Birthday and DCA theme song.

Well not much time but some info I thought I would drop on the page. A whole new Firework show will come out this summer (or spring). The name will be something along the line of "Belive there is magic in the Stars".

They have put sign's all over the park about the 45th Birthday and TV ads have begun to run.

The quote below is from an LA Times article today entitled "Kids may get their own tours". "But Walter Afanasieff, who produced 'My Heart Will Go On' for Celine Dion and as a writer and producer has worked on hundreds of hits, couldn't resist the offer from Disney to write a song that will serve as the official tune for its new California-themed park being built adjacent to Disneyland in Anaheim. 'The carrot they dangled was that the ultimate compliment for a writer is to have a song everyone knows so well they're sick of it,' he says. So Afanasieff and lyricist John Bettis have composed 'A Place in the Sun,' which he will produce for use at, and in promotion of, the new park."

That is all for now, until next time....

Jan 1st 2000

I felt the need to do a update because it is the first day of the year 2000!!! Find out about Disneyland's 45th Birthday!!!
I was suprised when I went to the Disneyland Website today to find all of the Christmas pictures down and all of the new 45th Birthday pictures up!!!
What's in store for the 45th??? Don't expect to see a big new E-ticket ride like Indy (Disenyland recived that ride for it's 40th birthday). Plain to see that park in great condition maybe a few new paint jobs and so forth.
Why no new rides??? Well remember we do have a whole new Theme Park going up in the parkin lot and it will be open next year. Thanks for all of you support for this page over the past 3 years. I hope to be a better Webmaster in this new Millenium. Thanks again
