November 1999

Nov. 24 1999

In this update hear the news all about Disneyland's new Christmas look. Also hear about the new Toon Town decorations and the New Orleans Square Holiday look!!! Also ride the new Rollar Coaster at DCA??? And whats up with Woody's Roundup?....

It's a Small World Christmas:

For the third year in a row "It's a Small World" has been turned into "It's a Small World Holiday". Over 50,000 twinkling lights adorn the classic "it's a small world" attraction. Inside of the ride hear the tune of "Jingle Bells" The ride will be "Small World Holiday" til the start of January.

New Orleans Square Holiday:

Look for the sleeping Crocodile (from Critter Country's Crocodile Merchandile- now Pooh Corner) making an appearance in the decorations. Also, the battle of the bands is a little skit in the tradition of Laughing Stock (Frontierland). Unfortunately, it's a little long winded when the crowd is really just waiting for more music to dance to. (This is the skit that they use the Mark Twain as a stage.) So far from what I have heard the show is Great

Mickey's Toontown:

Toontown looks really nice when decorated. And care was taken in the theming for these decoration- look for the Dalmatians that had invaded Main Street (during the release of the live 101 Dalmatians in theaters) in the Firehouse; the glass ornaments at the glass factory; the flash-bulb lights and film at the Camera store, etc. Note how the tree is falling over. Disney is really putting the detail back into the park.

As you can see from this picture the Paradise Pier section of DCA is coming right along. And as much as I hate Rollar Coasters this link to a virtual ride got me excited. The views from this ride should be great go to the link to check it out!!!
A new show will be at the "Golden Horseshoe Stage" Woody's Round up. From what I know it had a soft opening to day (11/24/99). I belive this show will have some of the new cast from Toy Story 2 like Jessie the Cowgirl, Bullseye the horse and Stinky Pete. The show should last about 22 mins.
