Not much is given about Tatsumi's birthplace or year, but it can be guessed at that he is older due to the fact his mother came from a Court's nobel family - thusly hinting at the fact he was born prior to the 1900s (but this is just my guess). His life was rather sad and painful - once belonging to a wealthy family and then having to adjust to the life of a commoner. After his passing he becomes a God of Death, originally he was to be Tsuzuki's third partner, but he quickly dropped this role, claiming Tsuzuki an idiot. Far from the real truth of his own hurt and guilt coming to surface when faced with a person who reminded him so much of his own mother and life. He then started as the Division's Chief Secretary. This basically makes him the accountant and he seems to rather enjoy handing out pays from which he was able to take deductions for mis-behaviour. He is terribly attached to money -- probably due in part to the tight budget of the Division and also to the loss of wealth in his earthly life. There are rumours that he may be the true head of the office. My nickname for him is often "the cheap accountant" and he has worked his way into becoming my second fave character, mainly because I see a bit of him in me :) Darker in personality with a streak of wicked humour, he is stern and cold - yet beautiful with a charm all his own. |
