Mike took Karan aside. They sat down next to a music store that had been damaged in the earthquake. Some instruments, many still intact, lay around him.
"I thought since we have to wait for Davy to come back with the other device, we can talk for a while." Mike said.
Karen didn't like the tone of his voice. "Whats wrong?"
"Wrong?" Mike looked at her. "What makes you think somethings wrong?"
"Well so much has gone screwy already." Karen said. "The time gadget going wacky, the earthquake. We don't know if Davy made it back. Even so, would the spare gadget be able to help us out here? Its a messy situa-" Mike cut her off with a powerful kiss on the lips. "-tion." She blinked. "You could always do that to me."
"I think we can get married here, today." Mike said.
"What?" Karen said. "I thought we were gonna wait. Maybe a month or two."
"I know, but something tells me,as weird as it is, that now is the best chance we'll ever get to it." Mike said. "Think about it, we'll be putting it off and putting it off and planning it around gigs, some of which we might not even get. All I wanted, if I ever got married, was a simple ceremony, me and the one I truly love." He said."I even have a song for us, would you like to hear it?"
"Okay." Karen said. He picked up a guitar and strummed it.
"Baby, I'm just a common man,
in my mind a common plan.
To do whatever I can,
to make our hopes and dreams come true."
"Cause I've got forever in my mind with you.
to be there whatever we go through.
Nothing will ever steal my love for you,
I've got forever in my mind with you."
"Maybe the good lord above,
will now and then give a gentle shove.
But no matter what heaven and earth do,
I've got all my life, to prove to you."
"Cause I've got forever in my mind with you.
to be there whatever we go through.
Nothing will ever steal my love for you,
I've got forever in my mind with you.
Baby I've got forever in my mind with you."
After he stopped singing she thought his whole idea over.
"It sounds nice, the song does. As for weddings I've never wanted something big and flashy. But where would we get married around here? Las Vegas hasn't been invented yet." Karen said.
"We'll think of something." Mike said. "Come on, the others will be worried." He took her hand softly and walked her back to where the gang was seated.
"What was all that about?" Chea asked.
"Nothing, yet." Karen said.
"Huh?" She asked.
"I'll expain later."
"You better, I don't want to be any more confused than I already am." Chea said half seriously.

Brianna walked quickly. She coughed every once in a while. Maybe staying outside so long wasnt such a great idea after all. She stopped by the same cemetary. She coughed a little with her hand over her mouth. She looked over where she had found the "graves" of her friends. She almost did a double take. One was missing!!
She went through the gate and walked quickly to where it used to be She surveyed the scene. She finally determined which one was missing.
"Davys is missing." She surmised. As strange as it was, it was a good sign. She thought she saw a flash behind her. She turned looked on the street. Nothing was there. The flash was enourmous. The source of it would be nearby.
Brianna quickly ran the street, looking around every corner. She knew she saw something, she wasnt going
nuts, she hoped. She stopped short of her own place. She
bent over and caught her breath. Shes took a minute or
two to do this.
"I didn't see anything." She thought while she stood.
"Maybe it's time for me to realize they're really gone." She heard footsteps fall behind her. She turned around. She gasped in shock.
"Hello, me love." Davy said. "Would you think it awfully
shocking if I kissed you right her in front of god
and everyone?" He asked.
She reached out to touch him. She couldnt believe what
she was seeing. Surely this had to be a cold medicine
influenced hallucination, or dream?
"Is it you?" Briana said. "Is it really really you?"
"If this don't tell you I'm real, nothing will." He reached and took her hand. He pulled her towards him and kissed her. It lasted about 30 seconds. Brianna pulled back.
"Okay, conider me convinced." Brianna said."Whats going
on?"
"I'll tell you all about it at the pad. Come on, there
is no time to waste."

The gang decided it would be better to move around the city. Staying in one place wasnt the best idea right now. Who knew would could happen next. None of the buildings looked really safe to be in at the moment.
After Karen explained to Chea Mikes wedding idea, she nodded.
"Hes not too complicated. A good old country boy. Flashy stuff don't impress him much." Chea said. "When do you think you will do it?"
"The minute we get home. Davy should be back anytime now." Karen said. "I think we have a problem."
"What?" Chea asked.
"Look." Karen pointed to Livvie and Peter. "I'd say they were getting close to each other. God, its Phoebe all over again. Whats gonna happen when we leave?"
"I know. " Chea said. "Then theres the matter of my mom. Will she go with us when we go?"
"Of course she will. I think anyway." Karen said. "You might have to ask her if she wants to go, and where."
Chea got up and walked to where Heidi was talking with Micky. She seemed to be really getting along with him which was good, Chea thought. The worst thing is having a relative not like your boyfriend.
"Mom, can we talk?" Chea asked sitting next to her.
"I could give you guys some privacy." Micky offered.
"You don't really have to." Chea said.
"Its no problem." Micky kissed her on the head. "I'll see you ina few minutes. Peters found a place where we can get something to drink."
Micky squeezed her shoulder as he went by. Chea turned and looked at Heidi. "When we get the time gadget fixed, we'll be going back to 1968." She said. "But theres something I want to know. When we go, do you plan to stay here or go?" Chea said. Heidi thought. "If you do come with us, do you want to be with us, or go back to 2001?"
Heidi thought for a minute. "Thats a interesting question." She said. "I think it would be wonderful if we lived together. But I had a boyfriend in the real world. I don't think he waited for me, but I never intended to stay in this dimension." She explained. "I always wanted to go home." Chea nodded sadly. "Don't be sad, you can always visit!"
"How? We can fix the gadget now, but what if it come to one day we can't fix it..." Chea said.
"I'll send you the stuff you need from time to time." Heidi offered. "Then it wont have to break again."
"This is great." Chea said. "One more problem resolved."
"Whats the other?" Heidi asked.
"Peter and Livvie. What to do about them when we leave." Chea quickly explained the story about Phoebe. "I never thought this would happen again, but I don't want to break his heart again."
"Hmm." Heidi nodded. "Why not just ask? I'm sure they've thought about it."
Chea looked at Peter and Livvie. They sat on the ground talking. "Thats a good idea. But how to do it?"
