Monkee Millenium
Magical Mystery Tour

It was about an hour later, and Davy had still not come back. The gang were getting worried. What if he didnt have enough power in the gadget to get back with the parts they needed? What if they were stuck there? As they walked they came upon a clearing with some people in it. It was an intersection where some poeple had gathered. Miraculously some buildings around them were untouched by the earthquake. For people who was just in a quake, they seemed to be acting strangely.
"Whats going on?" Mike asked Karen. Karen didn't answer him but watched with the rest. There were people dancing, and some were playing instruments. They seemed to be having whole lot of fun.
"It must be to take their minds off whats going on around them." Karen said.
"Its a great idea." Micky asked. He turned to Chea. "After you madam?" He bowed. He took her hand and brought her into the crowd.
"What are you doing?" She laughed. "I don't know to dance like these people."
"It doesn't matter." He said pulling her close to him. "Just move with the music."
They then dance sort of a lousy "Virginia Reel" around the circle. The people who were dancing stopped and went to the side of the circle to watch the duo. The ones who werent playing instruments started to clap their hands to the beat. Mike, Karen and Peter started to clap their hands. Livvie was the only one who didn't clap, it would have hurt her hand. She instead began to sang.
"She'll be coming around the mountain when she comes." She sang. Peter looked at her. She had such a beautiful voice, he thought.Chea and Micky really got into the dancing. Chea laughed as they bopped around the circle. The music stopped and the two stopped in the middle of the square. Only then did they see that they were the only ones dancing.
Chea blushed and Micky waved. The crowd broke out into applause. Chea curtsied and Micky bowed. Karen whistled a little bit. They came out of the circle as the music started again, and other couples started to dance.
"That was fun!" Chea said.
"You two oughta try it." Micky said. "After all you have to dance at your wedding."
Karen thought it over. "Well Mike?"
"Sure, what else have we got to do?" Mike replied.
"Maybe Livvie and Peter can join us...where did they go?" Karen asked.
"They couldnt have gone too far." Chea said. "Come on, let's dance! Put on your red shoes and dance the blues!" Karen quickly looked around before going off to dance. Chea was right. Peter could take care of himself.

Down the road

Peter walked with Livvie. Peter and Livvie had been talking about her family. It had suddenly occured to her that she never even thought about them when she was with Peter. She had to go see if they were all right. She was going to go by herself, but Peter would'nt allow that, especially with her hurt arm. They snuck away from the dancing and singing just as Chea and Micky had stopped doing their dance. Peter knew the others would be worried, but he would explain later.
"Where do you live?" Peter asked her.
"Down the road a little." Livvie said. "With all these things going on, the gadget, the quake, I never once thought of my own flesh and blood. I feel so bad."
"You're thinking of them now aren't you?" Peter said. "That means a lot if you're concerned."
"Thanks." Livvie said. "This makes me feel a little better."
"No problem." Peter said.
They soon arrived at what looked like a warehouse. Part of it was damaged in the quake but the sign at the top could still be read. "RJ Wagner Wholesale". Peter looked around. This is where she lived?
"Where's your home?" He asked.
"Right here." She said.
"It looks like a factory." He replied.
"Thats because it is." She said. "I'm sorry but I lied before. I really don't have a home. I have been living here alone for the last year. I don't have any family." She said sitting on the curb. "This is where I live and work. I was actually out for groceries, that part was true. But I was on my way back here when the quake struck." She sighed. "I'm sorry for the untruths, but I didn't know you then. I did not know whether you or your friends could be trusted." She folded her arms. "I suppose you would rather be elsewhere now." She declared.
"Why would you say that?" Peter asked.
"Would you want to be with someone who has lied to you?" Livvie asked.
"You had a good reason." He said. "I understand. And this whole business about where we are really from had to weird you out too."
"Considering the fact that we had the very earth shake underneath us, people coming from another time and place doesnt seem to phase me." Livvie said. "I guess anything is possible now."
"Yeah." Peter said. He looked at her. "Hey would you like a place to live?"
Livvie looked at him. "A place to live? I would like that more than anything right now." She said. "Why, what are you offering?"
Peter smiled at her.

Davy and Brianna got the second device from the girls house. He looked at it. "I guess thats everything. I gotta go now."
"So soon?" Brianna asked. "But you just got here."
"I know, but everyone is counting on me to get back there." Davy said. Brianna looked down at the ground.
"Okay." She sniffled.
"Luv." He placed his hand under her chin. He lifted her face up so he could her eyes. "I will be back for you. I promise we will. And after that if we ever go anywhere else, I'll make sure you're at my side." He vowed.
"You better come back." Brianan said. "Or I'll never ever ever forgive you, David Jones!"
He kissed her softly on the forehead. He set the time in the first time gadget. He poised his finger above the button.
"I'm vapors, baby." He said and pressed it. He vanished in a flash of bright white light. Brianna had to cover her eyes since she was so close. After a moment or two, she opened them again. He was gone.

As the dancing in the streets continued, Peter and Livvie came back to talk to the guys. Karen, Mike, Chea and Micky stopped dancing once they caught sight of them. They gathered at the outer edge of the dancing people.
"Where did you guys go?" Mike asked, raising his voice slightly.
"Long story." Peter said as he looked at Livvie. She had a "do I have to do it all over again?" look on her face. "We were talking."
"Bout what?" Mike asked.
"Livvie has no where to go." Peter said. "Her house is gone, her family is gone." He said leaving out the part about the fact that her house was actually a warehouse. "We talked about it, and Livvie would like to come with us." Peter said.
"That is if its all right with you." Livvie said.
"Well..." Mike said.
"This is more like a vote thing." Karen said.
"Right." Chea said. "Good idea. But not everyone is here."
"Yes they are." Chea heard a voice. She turned to see Davy with both time gadgets.
"Hey!" Micky said. "When did you get here?"
"A minute ago. Its hard to find you guys in this city." Davy said.
"Let's get that thing fixed." Mike said.
"Wait, the vote." Karen said.
"Okay." Mike said. "Lets hurry though, we don't know if there will be aftershocks or not. Is there anyone against Livvie coming to the future with us?" Everyone shook their heads. "All right. Find a secluded spot, we can't let anyone see what we're doing."

A few minutes later

"Are we almost done?" Chea asked Micky as he was putting the final touches on the gadget.
"Almost there." He closed it. "Done."
There was a sigh of relief in the group. Now they could finally go home.
"I can hardly wait." Heidi said. "As fun as it is time traveling and such, it'll be good to go home."
"Oh so you're going back to 2001?" Micky asked.
"Yeah." Heidi said. "I miss my home. And as much as I would love to live with you guys, adjusting to yet another time period is just a little too much for me. I've been through a lot, I'm ready to be home now." She looked at Chea who nodded. "But we've agreed to visit from time to time."
"Yeah." Chea said.
"Are we ready?" Mike asked.
"Yeah." Peter said. "Are you ready?" He asked Livvie.
"Yes." Livvie said. "Hold my hand, this will be my first time."
"Sure." Peter said clasping her hand in his.
Micky punched the numbers in. "All right, everyone who doesnt have a hand, grab one now." Micky grabbed Cheas hand with his free hand, she grabbed Karen who grabbed Mike who grabbed Davys who grabbed Livvies arm who was already hand in hand with Peter who grabbed Micky by the arm.
"Here we go." Micky said as he pressed the button. The flash surrounded them. Livvie grabbed Peters hand tighter. He looked at her and reassured her with a smile. She smiled back.
Then they were gone

Brianna could feel herself wearing a rut into the floor. She had been pacing in the guys pad since Davy left. It felt like it was hours ago but it had really been a few minutes. She sat down on the couch.
"Oh where are you?" She muttered. She was getting tired again but she didnt want to miss them come back, that is if they were coming back.
There was a sudden flash of light from the beach. Brianna got up and hopped over the back of the couch. She ran to the door and looked out. She opened the door, went outside and stood at the top of the stairs. She smiled.
"Davy!" She called as she ran down the stairs.
"Brianna!" He called back. Brianna almost fell down once as she finished coming down the stairs. Davy reached her before she did and hugged her. Davy brought her over to the gang, where she hugged everyone and met Livvie.
"Brianna, this is Olivia...Livvie." Peter said.
"Hi, Livvie." Brianna said. "It's nice to meet you."
"Likewise." Livie said.

Later

Peter took Livvie by the hand. They walked for a while on the beach. He showed her the sights and the sounds. He didn't show her too much however, it would have been way too much to take in one day. Finally he sat her down on a big piece of drift wood.
"So this is the future." She mused.
"Yeah, pretty much." He said as they watched the sun set.
"I think I'm going to like it." She said.
"Cool." He said.
"Very cool." She said back.
