Forbidden Subjects
The movie opens with Bronson and his inept partner talking during a stakeout. Bronson listens wearily at his partners comments until a limo rolls up with "That sleazebag Duke" and a young girl who Bronson says looks the same age as his daughter. They decide to go in having no legitimate reason at all. When the front desk doesn't cooperate in illegal police activity, Bronson demands, "You try me you'll wish you were back in mother India. When they force their way in under the pretense of a scream, the man is not happy to see him. After being thrown through a dresser, and called a dirty bastard, Bronson demands a sworn statement that Duke brought the girls. When he refuses, Bronson shows him what it feels like to be one of those little girls by picking up a dildo and sodomizing him with it. The faint screams are heard as the girl and the inept partner walk out.
Bronson is then at home talking to his wife, contemplating how much he hates his job. He wants to give it up, but his wife says, What about your pension? Bronson knows he might have just jeopordized his pension.
Meanwhile in Tokyo...
A Japanese firm is training its employees in American society for overseas work. An American reminds his pupils that they want to talk English. When they role play meeting clients in an American business situation, the teacher says to Mr. Hada, "Mr. Hada how are you?" Mr. Hada responds, "Hello Mr. Jones, my bowels are not good." The teacher points out the absurdity of his statement saying, "Niether Mr. Jones, nor anyone else in America gives a **** about your health, your family, or your problems." He goes on, "things that go on below the belt may be perfectly acceptable in Japan, but they are Kinjite: Forbidden Subjects in the West." After having too much Saki, Hada returns, fights with his wife while his oldest daughter explains to the younger that by daddy doing, "business entertainment", they have a nice house and get to go skiing every winter. Now, Hada harshly derides his wife by saying, she's a bad lover, and "your sexual gifts are few and bitter." She replies, "I'm sorry, please forgive me."
Back in America,
Bronson walks in to Vinny, a basketball player, and his 15 year old daughter kissing kissing at 11:00 at night. Bronson is displeased, saying, "Don't athletes need their sleep?" He goes into his room where his wife is reading and wonders why they send her to parochial school because the nuns aren't teaching her anything. The wife prefers this setup to her daughter in the back seat of a car.
At an arena football game, Duke and a man resembling Tom Jackson check for recruits in the child prostitution ring. Duke is discouraged feeling they will have no luck, but Tom a nice girl in the stands and points her out to Duke. When Duke looks, he notices Crow (Bronson), "the guy who's been ****ing up my business." When Bronson leaves to get some Nachos, he is accosted by the two who comment on his daughter, "she's worth five grand a week man, put her on the streets." Tom replies, "yeah man, you could make a fortune." The daughter and her friend see the nachos to the Duke's face and the elbow to Tom Jackson's face, as he coolly angrily walks off.
Back in Japan...
Hada boards a crowded train, where he notices an standing attractive young women who was swiftly groped by a man sitting down. he is amazed that the girl was having an orgasm on the train, and you can tell he's going to try the move. He discusses the events with his boss who is amused by it. The boss then tells him he's being assigned to work in Los Angleles shortly.
Speaking of Los Angeles, Bronson is watching Duke at night, and Bronson gets in his car and makes him drive with the threat of blowing off his knee caps. Duke insists he wants to talk to his lawyer and Bronson responds, this has nothing to do with lawyers nor the department, this is between you and me. You make a living off little girls and I make a living stopping pissheads like you and I'm going to put you out of business. They stop in a quiet lot in the city and Bronson is offered Dukes watch to never see each other again. Bronson says, "I'd like to shove this up your ass, but I don't want to dirty my hand. You're going to eat it. You're going to eat it or I'm going to blow your head off. Open up. Open up your mouth!" After painfully forcing it down his throat, Duke insists he's going to die, but Bronson knows he won't but, "You will have to stick your head between your legs in order to tell the time. Bronson gets out of the car and puts some newpaper in the car then lights it on fire. Logically, the whole car blows in seconds. He cautions Duke, who narrowly escaped, if he doesn't stop running the ring, he'll "end up dead. Dead in a gutter dead.".
At his daughter's swimming competition, Bronson is disturbed by the revealling pictures taken of her after winning. When his wife senses his paranoia over young girls being exploited, he says, "She'll catch her death of cold."
When the Japanese businessman comes to L.A. he tries the subway move on a crowded bus which holds both Bronson's daughter and her friend. Luckily he picks Bronson's daughter and she screams. When the bus stops, the Japanese man hurries off in the confusion. He ducks around an alley to hide from cops and gets mugged. Bronson's daughter remembers little about the appearance of the man during questioning but remembers he had a small pin on his lapel. The police can't really do anything about the incident so it is forgotten. Bronson however is now very concerned about a man like Duke. When Duke abducts the Japanese guy's daughter, Bronson is assigned to the case. He's particularly concerned with catching Duke as he realizes that it could have been his daughter just as easily.
