SUPER POWERS/ABILITIES: Huntress is a highly trained acrobat and martial artist, with a black belt in Jeet Kune Do. She is also a gold-medal winning archer, with amazing aim with both thrown and fired weapons - no matter how complicated looking. Her weapons include a pair of crossbows; one 'standard' and a high-tech energy crossbow that belonged to an alternate-reality version of her cousin. She also has a wrist bow on her right wrist which fires razor-sharp flechettes and jolts of electricity. The costume she wears grants her similar physical feats as those of Terry McGinnis in the Batman suit, as hers was also made by Bruce Wayne.

HISTORY: Once upon a time, there lived a man named Simon Trent. Simon starred in his own TV series, playing the title role of 'The Grey Ghost'. The Grey Ghost, a Dick Tracy meets the Shadow kind of guy without telepathic powers, was a costumed crime-fighter that fought for Justice. He inspired many children throughout time, most notably, a little boy by the name of Bruce Wayne... Of course, dreams don't last forever, and neither do series. As an actor, Simon was washed up. He couldn't get another acting job, he was Grey Ghost. He fell upon hard times, forced to sell his memorabilia to a local toystore to make ends meet. Then, in the 90's, the owner of that toy store began using a plot from one of the old episodes, and Simon Trent donned the Grey Ghost costume once more, worked alongside the Batman, which brought him back into the spotlight until the day he died. His son, Eric, was well off, and had two sons of his own. Simon Jr. and Michael.

Simon would make his money using the old Grey Ghost hook, managing to successfully net himself and his wife, Iris, a comfortable Nest Egg. The two spent their days living comfortably, running a scholarship fund for performing arts students and the charity funding it. The two tried for several years to have children, when finally, Lilian Trent was born, a mere week after their niece Gillian. Their daughter, their first and last child, would grow up alongside her older cousins, constantly butting heads with Jill over -something-.

Lilian saw how Jill pitied Ethan, because of his NTCD (Neuro-Transmitter Control Deficiency). She could tell Jill thought he was weak, pathetic. Lilian tended to side with Ethan in arguments that would break out between him and his sister, which only helped to bristle the girls against each other. And Lilian saw how well Jill did in school, and was determined to show her up.

By the same stroke of genetics, Lilian was every bit as smart, pretty, and athletic as her cousin, though for some strange reason, Jill was the only blonde (which didn't help). Lilian was at the top of her class, and she didn't really have to work hard at it. She began tinkering with gadgets when she wasn't going to Archery practice. Somehow, she managed it all. She did well in school, was excelling in Archery, and had many friends. She was sure she'd beaten Jill after all these years of never winning at anything. Until, one day, after school in the 4th grade, a 6th grader picked a fight with the 'smart girl'. So what was Lilian to do? She trounced the girl, of course, though took a few good hits herself. She got home, suspended for a day, and her parents decided... She didn't have enough to keep her busy if she had time to get in brawls. So they let her pick another activity. She picked Jeet Kun Do, because it was just so much cooler than Karate, and they don't exactly teach Ninjitsu in the states.

So, now with a loaded plate that allowed her to excel physically and mentally, she was not much time to hang out with friends, but Lilian was such a socialite at school that didn't matter terribly. At the age of 13 she went to the Olympic trials for the upcoming '36 Summer Olympic Games, and made Team U.S.A. for Archery. She would go on to get the gold medal that next summer, at 14, the youngest Archer to medal. Then came high-school.

With her electronic tinkering falling by the wayside (once you can do something, you stop playing around at it so much), she was able to pick up a new hobby... Hoverbike riding, even 'mundane' motorcycles. She -loved- them, and saved up enough money from allowance and birthdays and sufficient begging to be able to afford a top of the line Hoverbike. She was 16. Then Jill graduated High School early. Frankly, Lilian, who never -wanted- to skip a grade, was gratefull she left. She had the school to herself now, and she was a year away from her black-belt... Life was good.

But the good times can, and will, go sour. That same year, a chemical plant accident killed her oldest cousin Martin. Ethan would survive, but Jill seemed to take Martin's death... and Ethan's survival personally. Lilian did what she could to console the cousins who were more like siblings, pushing her own pain deep down. In the end, none of them were really consoled, and all it did was force each of them to throw themselves into their own lives.

Lilian moved through the next two years rather numbly. Nailing down her black-belt, perfecting her riding skills, and, driven by the stories of heroes gone by, she slowly began to build her own tools and gadgets, for use for the day when she took her place among them. She graduated at the top of the Class of 2039, and didn't waste much time applying to colleges. In the end, she decided to go to Gotham University to major in electronics. Her personal skills honed to the sharpest she could hone by herself, and inspired by the emergence of the namesakes of the heroes of the past.... Superman, Wonder Woman... but most notably Batman, she decided she would begin to fight crime as well.

Donning a costume she comissioned herself from expensive materials, her miscellaneous home-made/store bought gear, and her crossbow, she would hit the streets of Gotham. Her early ventures on the streets were noticed immediately by Wonder Woman, and picked up by the public. After busting a prostitution ring, and a long-hidden smuggling operation, she was confronted by the new Princess of Power. Wonder Woman didn't want her out there getting herself hurt, and Huntress politely told her to take her concern elsewhere.

Unfortunately for Huntress, it wasn't too hard for Wonder Woman to deduce her identity. Finding out they were actually cousins, and that everyone else in the family seemed to be a hero too, didn't help the fact that Jill did -not- want Lilian out putting herself at risk with no powers. It was in the middle of such a lecture that Hank Henshaw, disguised as a manaical misogynistic alien, attacked and subdued the female members of the Justice League - while Lilian managed to escape to another part of the station unnoticed.

When Superman arrived on the scene to engage the man who attacked his wife and comrades, Lilian got her hands on an energy bow in a display case, and proceeded to take advantage of the Death Star-like weakness in Henshaw's disguise. Superman was free to duke it out with Cyborg, while Huntress quickly rescued the rest of the team. She was made a member shortly thereafter.

After several near-miss experiences, lots of complaining because of having to ask for help, and because of her genuine interest in the pursuit of Justice, Batman soon took her to meet Bruce Wayne. Wayne offered her a suit and an 'upgrade' of sorts, and she gratefully accepted, feeling an odd sense of a cycle in meeting the man who was touched by her great-grandfather's own life.

Huntress works as more of a reserve member of the JLA currently, patrolling Gotham City on her own and occaisionally working with the other members of either the JLA or the Bat-Crew.
