This page contains the latest news concerning Jennie, as far as her career and certain personal matters are concerned. The purpose of this is to keep her fans informed so that they can be more supportive of her, and is not intended to be intrusive.
Right now, Jennie is unaware that this Web site exists. In time, I hope to get in contact with Jennie (or her agent) myself, and if she approves of the site, then I may possibly get this information first-hand. Because I am not privy to any information regarding her, I will need the support of her fans to keep this page current. The help will be greatly appreciated.
As of December 4, 1998, Jennie will be performing a one-woman play at the Los Angeles Theatre Center. The play is titled Faces of America and it will run until December 19, 1998. The play, with Jennie, has just finished a 25-state tour. The play begins at 8 P.M. PST. For more information, contact the LATC box office at (213) 485-1681.
During a routine scan of the 'Net in search of news on Jennie (April 17, 1999), I found out via The Internet Movie Database (and confirmed by Melissa Robert's CD site) that Jennie is appearing in the movie Never Been Kissed, starring Drew Barrymore. The movie has been released, and when I get a chance to see it, I will provide more details.
August 30, 1999 - While doing the occasional check for "dead" links for the site, I went into the Will & Company theatrical site (where Jennie was performing in the play Faces of America) which states that Jennie is now performing in the female lead of the adaptation of Shakesphere's Romeo & Juliet. As far as I know, the play can be seen at the Los Angeles Theatre Center and it might also be on tour. If anyone has any further info, please let me know so I can post it here. Thanks.
Check out this Real audio clip of her performance.
March 23, 2000 - While doing a search to see what Jennie was up to, I found out she is starring in the Digital Entertainment Network (DEN) production Fear of a Punk Planet, which is about four kids from different sides of the punk scene who join forces to save their favorite club. The show is unique, for it can only be seen on the Internet, which means you will need some kind of viewer and a fast modem to see it. However, the site will allow you to configure the settings in a way that is compatible with your computer.
After having seen a couple of episodes, I must say that the show is pretty good, however, you can judge it for yourself. BTW, Jennie (whose character is named "Jenny Tran"), in some of the later episodes, sports a blue wig but still looking great as always.
September 5, 2000 - Today, the site received a visit from its namesake, Jennie Kwan (or someone claiming to be her), stating that she is now appearing in a new musical Bare, which is a "coming-of-age story of five high school seniors at a Catholic boarding school. Knowing that their stay in this insular world is drawing to a close, each must stumble through the question, "what next?" Answers are sought in the church confessional, and in less formal ones: on stage, at a rave and in the privacy of a well-locked dorm room. There, secrets crash about and settle, to be picked up by whoever is ready to further the journey" (an except taken from the play's website).
The musical will premiere October 14, 2000 at the Hudson Mainstage Theatre, 6539 Santa Monica Blvd., Hollywood, CA. Tickets go on sale today; for info on obtaining them, please visit their website.
January 30, 2001 - Today, I received an e-mail from J. Davis which states the following:
Hi. I just visited your Jennie Kwan site. I thought I'd update you with some new info about her. She has recently joined the pop group Nobody's Angel, replacing former member Amy Sue Hardy. She is currently working with the other 3 girls on their new album, due out on Hollywood records later this year.
