"The most positive thing that comes out of all these rumours is that the press conceives me as a pretty eclectic guy. They're linking me with everyone from Pamela to Calista to Matt." --Ben, on all the rumours stirred up about him.(Thanks to Anonymous!)

Those were, what I thought, the best Golden Globe memories. I will be back soon with some choice pics from Awards night. Now we've got the Oscars to look forward to around the middle of March.
Ben Affleck, Lauren Bacall, Matt Damon, Melanie Griffith, Holly Hunter, George Lucas, Kelly Preston and Charlize Theron will be presenters at Sunday's Golden Globe Awards. The Globes will be telecast live Sunday on NBC (tape-delayed on the West Coast) from the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

This Gwyneth Paltrow-Ben Affleck thing is getting complicated. One story on the wire says Ben split when he found out she'd fallen for Viggo Mortenson, her costar in "A Perfect Murder." But Star magazine is trumpeting that she left Ben to get ex-lover Brad Pitt back, despite that Brad is couples with Jennifer Aniston. Star quotes Gwyneth (supposedly) saying "Jennifer should watch out . . . I'm going to get him back." And Gwyneth says Ben's too interested in drinking beer and hanging out with pal Matt Damon. She (supposedly) says: "If I married Ben, I'd be marrying Matt as well." Whoa. We've heard of that kinda stuff. N-a-u-g-h-t-y.
(How ridiculous is this article anyway?)
The latest issue of Movieline Magazine has a few interesting mentions. In a piece called, "Best of the Best," Matt was named "Best Nose" (with an accompanying photo, of course). Another small article (with another photo of Matt) remarks on the lack of chemistry between him and Gretchen Mol in Rounders. There's also a page on what female celebrities buy the men in their life. It says that Winona Ryder is rumored to have bought Matt some Armani threads. Then, there's a big feature on sexy movies that has a section about The Talented Mr. Ripley.
The YM pics will be up by this Friday! But right now, on with the news:
FORGET Times Square. The headquarters for drunken revelry on New Year's Eve was at Dana Giachetto's downtown loft. Giachetto, the investment consultant to the stars who counts Leonardo DiCaprio and Cameron Diaz among his client pals, threw a bash that isn't likely to be forgotten. "Good Will Hunting" cohorts Matt Damon and Ben Affleck certainly enjoyed themselves - the guys imbibed enough bubbly that they were having too much fun. Damon's date, Winona Ryder, pulled the hunky actor aside and scolded: "You are leaving now!" Before long, Affleck was leaning on younger brother, actor Casey Affleck. The morning after must have hurt.
Also home for the holidays: Cambridge's Matt Damon and his girlfriend Winona Ryder were spotted on Newbury Street yesterday. The pair stopped into Cafe Louis for a late lunch. They split a mushroom pizza and salad.
Yes, that was Cambridge homey Matt Damon and his gamine galpal, Winona Ryder, breaking bread in the late afternoon yesterday at chi-chi Cafe Louis. We assume Matt's home for the hols and didn't want to be outdone by his bud, Ben Affleck, who showed off his S.O., Gwyneth Paltrow, at Legal Sea Foods last week. After lunch, Nonie, wearing her big cuff jeans, spread a little green around upstairs at Louis, Boston. "She's always in here shopping when she's in town," said our spy. "She loves it here." Well, what's not to love?
