Host NBCsanjose:
The band has just started to jam! We're just about to
rock-and-roll! Hi. Welcome to the NBC.COM chat room on the web and the NBC SuperNet
Auditorium.
Tonight, we're partying it up here in Pasadena at the NBC Summer Block Party. We'll be
taking questions from both the NBC.com site on the World Wide Web () and the NBC SuperNet
Auditorium.
Our question collection has begun so start sending 'em in!
Host NBCsanjose:
Our first guests this evening will be ROBERT STACK of
"Unsolved Mysteries" and RON GLASS of the new comedy "Mr. Rhodes"
Host NBCsanjose:
Here's a little background info on our first guests:
ROBERT STACK
Veteran television and motion picture performer Stack, who won
an Emmy Award for his creation of Eliot Ness in "The Untouchables," has a long
list of TV with such live shows as the prestigious "Playhouse 90" and
"Theatre Guild Playhouse." Stack was nominated for an Oscar for his performance
in "Written on the Wind," which also starred Rock Hudson and Lauren Bacall. His
long list of movie credits includes "A Date with Judy," "Miss Tatlock's
Millions," "The High and the Mighty," "To Be or Not to Be" and
"John Paul Jones." He starred in the European films "The Corrupt Ones"
and "Action Man," and had pivotal roles in "Airplane" and
"1941."
RON GLASS
If you've turned on the television you've seen Ron Glass. He
starred as a series regular in "Rhythm & Blues," "Slauson
Heights," "Murder She Wrote," "Amen," "227," "All
in the Family," "The Bob Newhart Show," "The Streets of San Francisco
along with movies of the week, "Perry Mason," "Gus Brown & Midnight
Brewster," "The Crash of Flight 401" and a host of others. He's been twice
nominated for an Emmy and is best known for his role as the stylish and charming Detective
Harris on "Barney Miller."
Host NBCsanjose:
Ok let's get started. Welcome!
Ron:
Hello all!
Robert:
Hello and good evening!
Host NBCsanjose:
<Leaper> Ask Robert if he knows any Calculus (my wife is
wading through homework as we type)...but really, she loves his show (and his cool voice)
and just wanted to say "keep up the great work"!
Robert:
Thank your wife..Calculus...is like Greek to me I'm sorry to say, but if she keeps tuning
in I promise I'll try to learn it
Host NBCsanjose:
treeoflife:
Ron Glass, your name sounds very familiar...what major roles have you starred in in the
past?
Ron:
Probably the most significant one was Sergeant Harris on Barney Miller.
Host NBCsanjose:
Question for both:I hope you're enjoying the party! Is it neat to mingle with the other
actors and do you ever strike up good friendships? (Mark in FL.)
Ron:
Yeah, whenever you work with people, you find people you have something in commong with...
or interesting... But they often last as long as the evening! <G>
Robert:
Being in show business is like being invited to a party we all have a lot in common. At
its best its a ball
Host NBCsanjose:
Question from MSN:debhtwr:
I've enjoyed Robert Stack for many years. Not just on "mysteries". Has he been
working on any new movies lately?
Robert:
I was handed a script tonight. A comedy that will go in August. If I can fit it in with
the series. I can't tell you the name yet because I haven't signed
Host NBCsanjose:
For those just joining us: we're currently chatting with Robert Stack of "Unsolved
Mysteries" and Ron Glass of the new comedy "Mr. Rhodes."
Host NBCsanjose:
RON: What's your favorite of all the shows that you've done?
Ron:
Probably Barney Miller because I did it so long...I have many fond memories...And then
there's the stage! :)
Host NBCsanjose:
<saratoga> Arthur from NY: Robert, does your show actively search for stories to
present, or do viewers usually submit ideas?
Robert:
A combination of both. The first year we had to go search for stories much more than now.
We have a terrific research department, but we still get a lot of our best stories from
viewers calling in
Host NBCsanjose:
Question for Ron, Tell us about your work with the Al Wooten Jr. Heritage Center? What is
it? I just heard about it in passing. (Louise in TX)
Ron:
Wow, I'm so thrilled that you've heard about it...It's a center for children in South
Central LA where we provide educational, cultural and recreational support. We are always
in need of financial support. Thanks for asking.
Host NBCsanjose:
A question for either distinguished gentlemen: The Olympics are just around the corner.
Will you be watching? Do you have a favorite sport?
Robert:
Yes I'll be watching, with great enthusiasm. I support our Olympic shooting teams, which I
think are the best in the world. Since I'm in the Hall Of Fame for skeet shooting, I'm
naturally interested in that particular sport.
Ron: Basketball! I'll be waiting!
Host NBCsanjose:
Robert, what role do you have in picking segments that are on "Unsolved
Mysteries?" I love the show! -Patrick
Robert:
The stories are actually chosen by the producers, but my input is pretty strong too.
Before I do a segment, I'm given a cassette to look at so that I not only do the dialogue
but I can visualize the story as I do it. When I can visualize the story, it becomes much
more of an emotional involvement for me and hopefully for the audience
Host NBCsanjose:
Question from MSN: rodthemod:
Ron, what do you think of Howard Stern?
Ron:
I've NEVER watched or listened to his show. Never!
Host NBCsanjose:
Ron, what did you like about this script that made you want to be in the show "Mr.
Rhodes"? And what can you tell us about it?
Ron:
The thing that I liked immediately was that it was so well written...the characters are
very unique... and interactive really well together.
Host NBCsanjose:
a follow-up question for Ron:
Host NBCsanjose:
A silly cyberspace question for all: Besides a certain credit
card, what do you never leave home without?
Laura:
My car keys... or my house keys
Jonathan:
Eric's wife
Eric:
My wife. And my clean underwear! (we all have our secrets)
Host NBCsanjose:
What comes to mind when you hear the word "peacock"?
Jonathan:
Family...
Eric:
redundancy...
Laura :
NBC...today anyways...
Host NBCsanjose:
Question for Jonathan:
I've read an article which states that you and David Schwimmer
were high school friends. Do you have any funny anecdotes about Schwimmer from back then?
Jonathan: I don't even have any funny anecdotes
about Schwimmer right now
Host NBCsanjose:
LAURA INNES
"Dr. Kerry Weaver" of ER
Laura Innes will be joining the regular cast of ER as a
regular in her role of Dr. Weaver. Innes was also seen in the "And the Band Played
On," and Bunny on "Wings" (3 seasons) for you NBC fans.
Host NBCsanjose:
Question for Laura: The character of Dr. Weaver is great!
She's someone you like to hate, and provides conflict to the cast of ER. How do you see
your character evolving?
Laura :
I'm sure they will continue to show different sides of the personality. But I hope
they keep her strong and edgy personality... I'm sure they will.
Host NBCsanjose:
Eric:
So give us a clue! What's up with Caroline...is it going to be Richard or Del???????
(Mallrat)
Eric:
I know I can take Richard. If it comes to that. I'll decide on the answer. If it comes
between us, I'm sure she'll go for me...just because...because Richard's so brooding...
Host NBCsanjose:
Millions of women want to know: Jonathan, are you really a
"single guy?" (Larissa)
Jonathan:
NO, I just play one on TV ..
Host NBCsanjose:
(and is Eric a "single guy"?)
Eric:
For those of you who can't read, I AM married!
Host NBCsanjose:
Laura, is your limp real? If not, who's idea was it? It gives
your character a unique dimension. I love it. (Mary)
Laura :
No, it's not...the producer's idea and I'm glad you like it ...
Host NBCsanjose:
Jonathan--does religion play any role in your life, since your
father is a Rabbi?
Jonathan:
Yes. Being a practicing Muslim does make it very difficult. You know what that means
;)
Host NBCsanjose:
Eric:
How do you enjoy working with Lea Thompson? Do you all get along off the set?
She's great. WE all get along off the set, I just bought a
house and Amy Peats just bought a house so I lent her all my house buying hints for
idiots...
Eric:
Now, Lea's the one who plays Caroline? She hates when I do this to her... Now she's
looking for dogs... So, I'll have to lend her all my dog house-breaking books for idiots.
Jonathan:
and she's starring in the next Back to the Future movie...That's great.
Host NBCsanjose:
Jonathan:
Which do you enjoy more, television or movies?
Jonathan:
If I had to have a preference, I prefer theatre. I was lucky enough to get my start in
New York doing theatre on Broadway and I try and get back on the stage just as often as I
can
Eric:
I personally like TV more (it's not my question) because I can stay home and flip
channels at my leisure.
Host NBCsanjose:
Everyone here is on a Must See TV show...I often find that the
whole "Must See TV" promo that NBC does works on a subliminal level and if I
don't watch, I will be attacked by an entourage of NBC stars, have you ever noticed that?
(Dalmation)
Eric:
First of all, there's nothing subliminal at all about it. It's pretty direct, you must
watch this show! But, as far as the subliminal thing, if you do find the urge to go out
and buy some impulse-products, there might be something to it.
Laura:
Yes, you are definitely putting your life in jeopardy if you don't watch
Jonathan:
I don't think you want to take the chance...Who knows what could happen to you if you
don't watch Must See TV... And looking at my watch right now... It's primetime, it's Must
See TV Time...and I've gotta find the nearest TV and turn it on!
Laura :
you will be an outcast...and your friends will make fun of you.
Host NBCsanjose:
I think you are fantastic actors/actresses. What would you say
are the differences between acting for tv, film and theater? Are they very distinct
disciplines?
Jonathan: Thank you all
Laura :
Yes, they are very different. Acting on stage -- use your larger circle of energy. TV
and film -- in general, is more about your eyes. less emphasis on is more.
Eric:
I think at the root of all of them, I think it's about being truthful in the craft, to
the character.
Eric:
As far as technique aspects, for theater, you must project and magnify that truth. In
film "be it." In TV, you split the difference and take the money. <g>
Excuse me now, I must go to the ATM. Good night ladies and gentleman!
Laura :
Thanks for watching ER, Best wishes Laura Innes
Host NBCsanjose:
GIGI RICE of "The John Larroquette Show" will be
joining us next. SIMBI KHALI of "3rd Rock from the Sun" has also just joined us.
Simbi:
HellooooOOO
Host NBCsanjose:
Here's some background info on our new guests:
SIMBI KHALI:
Her television credits include guest-starring roles on the
series "Martin" and "Sinbad". In addition, she was a regular on the
series "She TV," a series from both the "3rd Rock" executive producers
Bonnie and Terry Turner and the Carsey-Werner Company. She is most proud of her Michael
Jackson impersonation on the show. Among her feature film credits are appearing opposite
Eddie Murphy and Angela Bassett in the upcoming "A Vampire in Brooklyn" directed
by Wes Craven and "A Thin Line Between Love and Hate" directed by and starring
Martin Lawrence. Her stage credits include performances in regional productions of
"The Colored Museum," "For Colored Girls...," "A Midsummer
Night's Dream" and "Troilus and Cressida."
GIGI RICE:
After relocating to Los Angeles, Rice made her television debut on the series "B.L.
Stryker." Her other TV credits include series regular roles on "Delta" and
"Harry and the Hendersons" as well as guest-starring shots on such series as
"Coach," "Hermans Head" and "Quantum Leap." Her feature
films are "Deadfall," "Don't Stop Now" and "A Gift from
Heaven."
Host NBCsanjose:
Quirky cyberspace question for all: Douggo_PR:
have any of you ever been on "the love boat"?
Simbi:
(laughs) Noooo..but I hope to very soon... I need some excitement in my life.
Gigi:
No, I haven't. I LIVE with the "love boat! <g>
Host NBCsanjose:
Another question for all: I understand that y'all are taking
part of a large NBC press junket in L.A. Are these enjoyable at all, or do you find them a
less attractive part of the job? (GoodyBoy)
Simbi:
If there's good food then I"m happy
Gigi:
You know, free drinks, free food, THAT's enjoyable. No seriously, it's part of the
job. But, you see some of the same people at work. Like Vicki Lewis, I worked with her on
a pilot called Main Street, it was a hoot. She's a hoot!
Host NBCsanjose:
For those of you just joining us...we're chatting with Simbi
Khali of "3rd Rock from the Sun" and Gigi Rice of "The John Larroquette
Show"
Host NBCsanjose:
How does Simbi enjoy working with John, is he as crazy off
camera as he is on? (Bill from Texas)
Simbi:
Oh yes..on April Fools, he called us all pretending to be the stage manager and told
us all that Prince Albert was coming and we would be briefed on etiquette before the
show... We love John...:)
Host NBCsanjose:
Gigi: Did you do any "research" for your role on the
John Larroquette Show? :-)
Gigi:
Oh geez. I went on the street and I was a real prostitute on my nights off! I love it
so much I'm gonna leave the show and become a real prostitute and do drugs :-) Just
kidding...
Host NBCsanjose:
J.T. WALSH of the upcoming drama "Dark Skies" has just joined us!
J.T. Walsh has made a career of 'ethically challenged men,
including military roles in "Good Morning Vietnam," and "A Few Good
Men." He was also seen in the recent "Executive Decision."
Host NBCsanjose:
JT "the man" I heard that you grew up in Europe.
When were you there and what was that like?
JT :
Yes, in Germany after WW2. IT was fun.
Host NBCsanjose:
Simbi:
You're the greatest thing about 3rd Rock, my question: most other NBC comedy shows just
have one word titles, like Seinfeld, Friends, Frasier, NewsRadio, why is your so much
longer?
Simbi:
They ran out of one words...??? Thank you, thank you, thank you!..Okay, back to your
question. It was originally gonna be "life as we know it"...but they thought
"Third Rock From The Sun" was catchy. Most people just call it Third Rock...What
one word would you call the show?
Host NBCsanjose:
TO Everyone: If you were not an actor/actress what could you
see yourselves being? (Mark from Indiana)
Simbi:
A teacher...I would teach acting and dance.
JT :
on the unemployment line
Gigi:
I'd probably be a social work in prisons.
Host NBCsanjose:
Gigi: I heard that you used to work with Burt Reynolds? Is
that true? What of you think of him in Striptease?
Simbi:
It's the truth....
Gigi:
I did work with Burt. I love Burt. One of the most generous persons for young actors.
He got me my SAG card and my Equity card...And he gave me my first job which was B.L .
Stryker.
I worked at the DMV in the show. Burt's gonna make a big come
back, I know.
Host NBCsanjose:
Question for Simbi and JT: "Dark Skies" and
"3rd Rock" have extra-terrestrial themes. Do you think a crossover episode could
be in the works?
Simbi:
(speechless)
JT :
Yes
Simbi:
I dunno what to say...Yes? Yes!!
Host NBCsanjose:
JT: Is it just coincidence or an act of god that you seem to
portray military officers in your roles? Have you had military experience? (Lt.Dan)
JT :
I grew up as an army brat
Host NBCsanjose:
The beautiful Gigi Rice: What does your family think of you
portraying a prostitute? Do they just laugh?
Gigi:
My dad used to be head of the Highway Patrol in Ohio... His name was Colonel Thomas
Rice. And now he's the head of police and fire departments. So, he gets endless grief.
This is TV. I don't have to "nude up" so, they're pretty cool.
Simbi:
NO, but I do! I'm trying to be good this time...last time I was really bad
Host NBCsanjose:
Simbi: I think the show 3rd Rock From The Sun is the best
sitcom on television since Cheers. What did u guys, the cast of 3rd rock, think when u
first heard the concept of the show? i ask this cuz i know everyone had their doubts about
the show and ABC turned down 3rd Rock. Did u guys have any idea that the show would become
this big?
-JoshP.
Simbi:
I always felt it in my heart. Especially working with Bonnie and Terry Turner, the
executive producers...I trust them exclusively and I think that they are brilliant...Ha,
ha ABC! :P
Host NBCsanjose:
To EVERYONE:
What advice would you give the future actors of tommorow who are currently struggling?
(kelv from Ontario)
Simbi: Follow your heart... but don't do anything that you wouldn't want your
children to do ! ;)
JT : Just do it!
Gigi:
I would say, continue to believe in yourself and continue working on your craft. No
matter what people tell you.
Simbi:
And pray...Pray a lot.
Host NBCsanjose:
Everett_Could you ask Simbi ? Is the money and opportunity
better in TV land or movies for African Americans and if the industries are more kinder to
African American then two years ago. Thanks EricB
Simbi:
I think we still have a long way to go, but me being so green in the business still,
I'm sure the money will get better as I go along. But its not about the money
gang....really, its about the art!...Uh huh...yeah right...!
Host NBCsanjose:
A question for JT Walsh...your bio says you were in
"Glengarry Glen Ross." That's one of my favorite plays. Which role did you play?
JT :
Williamson, the office manager, the ethically challenged office manager
Simbi:
Will you dance with me later ? (to J.T.)
JT :
Simbi - yes if you teach me.
Simbi:
Let's go then! Thank you and keep watching Third Rock...You better!
JT: Thank you and tune into "Dark Skies",
Saturday night at 8 on NBC
Gigi:
Bye, bye. This was the best msn/internet chat I've ever had!

And LEILA KENZLE of "Mad About You" is just sitting down!
Host NBCsanjose:
Some background info on Leila Kenzle: In 1989 she went to Los

series "Princesses" (she played the wife of the character portrayed by Richard

include appearances on "The Golden Girls," "thirtysomething" and
"The Cosby Show." She recently finished work in "The Charmer," an
upcoming TV movie.
Host NBCsanjose:
TO EVERYONE: When you were little did you always dream of
being on TV?
Leila: Yes. Sure I did. Didn't you? <g> I dreamt
of being Ginger on Gilligan's Island. I know, everyone wanted to be Mary Ann...
Host NBCsanjose:
STEPHEN ROOT of "NewsRadio" has just joined us to
quell any rumors that Vicki Lewis spread online earlier :-) ANDY DICK of
"NewsRadio" has also joined us.
Host NBCsanjose:
Leila: Are you happy that Mad About You has moved
out of the Sunday time slot?
Leila: Yes, who wouldn't be!
Steven:
UMmm..Hey...How is everyone out there?
Host NBCsanjose:
Background info on Stephen Root:

Stephen:

Andy : They used to say I was tree, because I had
this big bushy hair
Host NBCsanjose:
The Olympics are just around the corner. If you could be an
Olympic athlete for a day, what sport would it be and why?
Stephen:
Andy, tell em what movie you're in now
Leila: Nancy Kerrigan without the knee injury. Or
Tanya with a medal!
Stephen:
You know,,,I was a sprinter when I was in high school, I did the 220, and the 100 and
the Medley Relay... So that's what I want to see when I watch the Olympics this summer
Andy : hurdles in the special olympics
Host NBCsanjose:
TO everyone: When you are not taping your shows what do you
like to do with your spare time?
Leila: Sex...Now, what do YOU do?

Leila: Stephen, HOW boring!
Stephen: Well thank you! I am boring, I'm a nerd!!!
Leila:
You can't be a nerd. You're my hero!
Host NBCsanjose:
<Quantum> For Leila: I know there has been much debate
on the internet as to how things will start with the new MAY season (i.e. will Jamie be
about to have the baby, or will the pregnency be streched out over the season)...any
hints? =)
Leila:
Please don't destroy my fantasies! You know as much as I do. But my guess is, they'll
make this mystery last.
Stephen:
andy says that his rubber jacket is making him sweat, but I like him anyway.
Andy :
It's like I'm wearing a giant condom... It's supposed to be fashionable!
Host NBCsanjose:
Stephen:
how does Sarasota, FL compare to Los Angeles? Which do you prefer?
Stephen:
Well, I haven't lived in Sarasota since I was born
Leila:
Quit asking Stephen stuff! I'm WAY more interesting.
Stephen:
I"ve been in LA for five years, but I was in NY for ten...So I miss it there
Host NBCsanjose:
Andy! What was up with your hair at "The Cable
Guy" premiere? Is that a new look?
Andy : It was a one night only affair with one night
only hair... ps - I do have some hair in braids, you just can't see it
Stephen: (to Andy) Are you gonna do this again with
your fringing?
Leila:
NOT FAIR WHISPERING YOUR ANSWERS!
Stephen:
I'll just drink my beer and wait for the next question
Host NBCsanjose:
Leila Kenzle:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Have you gotten any gifts yet? (i hope i have your birthdate right)
Stephen:
Today???
Leila:
Thanks. No. But what are you sending me? P.S. I like diamonds. And anything else as
expensive. Sorry!
Stephen:
Andy says that you guys are too afraid of him :( Andy says we should be talking
more... We're like lumps on a log..:P
Andy :
Stephen, are you excited to go back to NEWSRADIO in Aug. I've missed you all summer.
Stephen:
yes...i'm looking forward to getting paid...I missed you more...
Andy :
I'm looking forward to getting laid.
Andy:
Stephen, are you excited to go back to NEWSRADIO in Aug. I've missed you all summer.
Stephen:
yes...i'm looking forward to getting paid...I missed you more...
Andy:
I'm looking forward to getting laid. oops that was a typo... paid .. :) looking
forward to getting paid again.
Host NBCsanjose:
For anyone: If you were to do a "The More You Know"
spot on NBC, what issue would you speak about? I just love those spots!
Leila:
Where have you been? re: THE MORE YOU KNOW. I've done two! Fetal alcohol syndrome and
domestic abuse. But I'd love to do a MORE YOU KNOW on: education. Any suggestions?
Stephen:
Well, I just did a charity event in San Francisco for Family Caregivers...We auctioned
stuff off and made a lot of money...
Andy:
I want to do THE MORE YOU KNOW
Host NBCsanjose:
Leila: Out of all the shows you have appeared in which one was/is your
favorite?
Leila:
The one where I slept with John Pankow!
Host NBCsanjose:
A question from a Canandian fan: To Everyone: How does one
become a writer for an NBC sitcom? Or at least submit some great ideas? (kelv from
Ontario)
Stephen:
There's nobody out there for us ..:( but we're damn good looking!
Stephen:
Most of our writers graduated out of Harvard
So I would say go there..
I think were done...Bye! Thank you very much
Leila:
I guess you didn't know I was so tawdry. Listen you guys. Thanks so much. It's always
good to chat! :)
(Leila leaves the chat room)
Andy : Stephen, I'm going to get some water, I'll
meet you by the bar.
Host NBCsanjose:
ELMARIE WENDEL of "3rd Rock from the Sun" and AMY
YASBECK of "Wings" are just about to join us.
Host NBCsanjose:
<guardian> I am wondering if some of you have your own
web sites on the internet?
Amy:
No, I don't...
Ok, we asked this before, but we need another opinion...How is the food and drink at the
party? Are they up to NBC standards?
Amy:
Commissary standards? Yes..(laughs)
Nobody wants to talk to me? :( Because my answer was too
boring
Elmarie : totally upto NBC standards, charming party
and charming help.
Host NBCsanjose:
Question for Amy: I remember you in the "Problem
Child" movies, how do you find working on a film in comparison to being on a
television show such as "Wings?"
Amy:
On a series, you don't have to wake up at 4 oclock in the morning
You can actually have the approximation of a life. But i do
love making movies...
and continue to do so in my hiatus..hiatuses..hiati?
hiatussssss?
hi. how are ya????
Host NBCsanjose:
JohnnyGoGo:
Do tv fans that sit in chat rooms need professional help?
Amy:
Maybe they just need a tv..
Elmarie:
only if you can afford it, those shrinks are costly.
Host NBCsanjose:
To everyone: What was your most embarrasing moment on the set?
Elmarie :
well, there was only one time that you were embarrassed
we had a bunch of young
marines in the audience and my character wears unusually tight pants and tops and there
was a lot of hollering and whistling, it kinda embarrassed me.
Amy:
Steve Weber was supposed to be wearing underwear and hiding himself behind a file
cabinet when i came to the door in the scene, he had opted to go completely natural ;)
I finished the scene and when the director yelled cut...I
fell on the floor
Host NBCsanjose:
JOSEPH GORDON-LEVITT of "3rd Rock from the Sun" has
just joined the party!
Host NBCsanjose:
Amy:
Is the cast of Wings close? Do you guys hang out off the set?
Amy:
Steve Weber and I made a movie together last summer. Dracula: Dead and Loving It
And then I flew to England to attend his wedding. He's a
dreamy guy and a great friend
Host NBCsanjose:
Joey: earlier, we asked JT Walsh of "Dark Skies" and
Simbi of "3rd Rock" if a crossover episode between the shows could be possible.
Any comments?
Joey: What's Dark Skies? I don't watch tv. Except
for NBC. Because they pay me.
Host NBCsanjose:
Elmarie: comments on this?
Elmarie : What's "Dark Skies"? I don't
watch TV... except for NBC :) and CNN. and Dave's world on CBS because one of my daughters
the star in the show... ONE of the stars..
Host NBCsanjose:
Oops, I guess I have some explaining to do: "Dark
Skies" is the new NBC drama with an extra-terrestrial theme.
Host NBCsanjose:
To any female actresses: Have any of you copied Jennifer
Aniston's haircut for the new tv season? (kelv from Ontario)
Joey:
I have!
Amy:
Uhhhh....uhhhh..uhhh...No
Elmarie : No, but I hear that she's been sporting my
characters upsweep.
Amy:
That's about all...
Host NBCsanjose:
To Everyone: If you had a choice of working in TV, Film or
Theatre which would you choose and why?
Amy:
Film..(to Joey) What did you say??
Joey:
Say...Sundancian Independent Film.
Elmarie :
I couldn't make a choice because they are all different from each other as far as
technique and they are all very pleasurable in their own right. Theatre was my whole life,
I love the theatre... TV is its own challenge.
Host NBCsanjose:
Another question for everyone: If you could be any other
character on any show, who would you be and why? (Ian)
Amy:
I would be Tommy on Third Rock from the Sun.... because he's so young and already so
freakin' hilarious
Joey:
I'd be French Stewart because he gets all the chicks ;)
Host NBCsanjose:
Elmarie: Does Joey behave on the set? Tell us the truth!!!
Host NBCsanjose:
Just a reminder: we're chatting with Joey Gordon-Levitt and
Elmarie Wendel of "3rd Rock from the Sun, " and Amy Yasbeck of "Wings"
Joey:
Give me a good answer... Or else... I'll let anyone know about your wig! <g> Just
kidding!
Elmarie :
Joey is so neat that if he were 20 years older, I would take him on a tour of Europe.
Joey:
(laughing...)
Amy:
If he was ten years older, he'd be mine! ;)
Host NBCsanjose:
We're polling our Must See stars at this rocking party with
the following question asked earlier...I hope you're enjoying the party! Is it neat to
mingle with the other actors and do you ever strike up good friendships?
Host NBCsanjose:
SHARON LAWRENCE has just joined us. You may remember her from
her memorable guest appearance in "Caroline in the City." She's got a new NBC
comedy coming called "Fired Up" (working title)
Amy:
It's more than neat.....It's groovyriffic! I have to go scarf down many free
appetizers now! 'kay? Bye!
Host NBCsanjose:
<guardian> I am wondering if some of you have your own
web sites on the internet?
Joey:
There's probably a 3rd Rock page. But I don't have my own.
Host NBCsanjose:
DARYL MITCHELL of "The John Larroquette Show" is
about to join us as well.
Daryl: (web site) Not yet..but I'm working on
it...I'm on America Online though.
Host NBCsanjose:
Sharon:
What is your new comedy going to be about?
Sharon:
I play a woman who is a high powered professional in a public relations firm who is a
victim of downsizing. She and her assistant (who is like her electrical system going into
business together) My character is like Auntie Mame with an edge.
Daryl: Dariver1 is my name. Send me some mail.
(aside) Watch my mailbox be flooded tonight! (laughs)
Host NBCsanjose:
Daryl:
Gigi Rice was chattin with us earlier. Can you tell us any secrets about her? (Zenboy)
Daryl:
Secrets about Gigi? I can't think of any offhand...I can't think of any to tell..
Host NBCsanjose:
Joseph
: I bet you are an online fan. Have you ever computer dated?
Joey:
I don't date machinery. I prefer humans.
Daryl:
Hell yeah! I have computer dated!
Sharon :
I won't be leaving NYPD Blue. I'll just be expanding my horizons with a half hour
wild, and wacky willingness to work.
Host NBCsanjose:
Another question from earlier in the evening...
There's been a recent movie about aliens from outer space. If
you came face-to-face with an alien, what would you do?
Sharon :
try to communicate and hope I don't pee in my pants
Joey:
Punch it in the face. Say, "Welcome to Earth" then smoke a cigar. And then
gross a trillion dollars!
Daryl:
(laughs) I would ask them.. "What kind of chronic they got in outa space?"
And I don't even smoke
Host NBCsanjose:
We're polling our Must See Stars...How is the food and drink
at the party? Are they up to NBC standards?
Joey:
What are the NBC standards for food?
Daryl:
YO...ill keep it real...
(Joey just called pulled away for a picture... He'll be baaaacccckkkk....)
Daryl:
where I come from, hot dogs is a delicacy! But i coulda made somethin better from my lunch
counter
Host NBCsanjose:
To Everyone: Are you guys all excited about the Emmy Awards
this year? (Kelv from Ontario)
Get your last questions in!!! We're about to wind down this
Block Party Chat!
Joey:
I don't know if I'm going to the Emmys. I might. I'm very excited because hopefully my
bribe will take effect...
Sharon:
Good bye, thanx I gotta go and work on my CBS movie tomorrow
Host NBCsanjose:
I hope you're enjoying the party! Is it neat to mingle with
the other actors and do you ever strike up good friendships?
Daryl:
I do this inside my house...so you know...i know a lot of these people
so they're like..."yo, Chill, wassup?" I can type
60 wpm...i'm not that bad...
Joey:
What does THAT mean? Is this some secret code I've been excluded from? They said
they'd STOP doing this to me!
Host NBCsanjose:
ok, last question for the evening :-( The Olympics are just
around the corner. Will you be watching? Do you have a favorite sport?
Joey:
Alligator wrestling. Unfortunately they don't televise that. So write lots of letters
and maybe they will!
Daryl:
(is relating some story about a layover in Olympicville)
What??? I"m going to the Olympics! I leave tomorrow. To
join my good friend, Shaquille O'NEal! at Sunday's basketball game
Host NBCsanjose:
THANK YOU for a great chat everyone. :-)
Special thanks to all the NBC stars for taking the time from
the party to chat with us.
Daryl:
Remember...continue to think what you always thought and you will continue to get what
you always got! So reach for the skies...A heap will see...but only a few will know!
Joey:
(he's thinking of a goodbye...)
Daryl:
One to grow one...! Peace...and im outie...
Joey:
A Mercedes for $1,200, now THAT's a good buy!
