In 1953, during the 3-D craze, DC Comics publishes a special issue of Superman. Among the three stories, is a retelling of the classic "The Origin of Superman" story. The panel art (above) is by Wayne Boring, perhaps the most famous of the Superman artists during the 1950s. Below (left) is the cover for this comic (art by Win Mortimer).

In 1998, DC publishes a comic with a 3-D cover (below right) to kick off the Superman Red, Superman Blue story arc (art by Dan Jurgens, Brett Breeding, and Patrick Martin). Red and blue lens 3-D glasses are, of course, enclosed with the comic book, and in the same deluxe package is a reprint of the 1953 3-D comic.
