During the Irish revolution, a family earns a big inheritance.
They start leading a rich life forgetting what the most important
values are.
One of the sons dies and a daughter has an illegitimate child.
At the end, they discover they will not receive that inheritance;
the family is destroyed and pennyless.....they must leave their home
too and start living as vagabonds.

Hitchcock didn't like Sean O'Casey comedy: he thought it was not
cinematographic. He was assigned to this work and he
did it, but of course, it results in a forgettable film.
