The beautiful Mrs. Paradine is accused of poisoning her old, rich and blind
husband. She hires Anthony Keane as her lawyer and the trial starts.
The lawyer falls in love with the lady while judge Hornfield tries to seduce
Keane's wife.
Anthony finds out that the stable-man, Andre Latour, is Mrs. Paradine's
lover so, blinded by jealousy ad love for the lady, the lawyer involves Latour
in the trial and starts accusing him. The boy commits suicide.
Mrs. Paradine is shocked by her lover's death and confesses that she is her
husband's murderer and accuses Keane of forcing Latour to kill himself,
pushed by jealousy.

The lawyer's career is destroyed and thus he comes back home where he finds
his wife waiting for him. She forgives her husband and accepts him back.

"The Paradine case" was not acclaimed by audience and critics. It is a dark
story surrounded by a sexual game; characters are moved by sexual
attraction and they commit immoral acts. The Judge tries to seduce Keane's
wife while Keane falls in love with Mrs. Paradine and wants to take away
from Latour.
Mrs. Paradine plays games with her lawyer to be absolved and kills her
husband to live with Latour. At the end of the movie everyone is a loser.
