I have a couple of friends who are biased against Titanic because of all the hype. Plus, in case ya didn't know, there is now officially an Anti-Titanic ring, for everyone who is sick of everyone gushing over how this is the best movie ever made. Some people are on the verge of going on raids and smashing every Titanic soundtrack they can get their hands on because they hear it too much (yes, Chrystal Keisler, I'm talking about you!).
So have we gone too far with our praise and adoration of this movie? I think, maybe we have. I mean, we have to remember that not everyone out there likes the movie. Some people don't even like Leo (yeah I know, big shock to most of you out there, huh, who think he can do no wrong?). But we are practically force-feeding them this movie just because in our opinion, it's the best movie ever made. And that's not too cool. They have a right to *not* like it, and *not* watch it. So I personally am going to back off a little with my extreme gushiness about this movie. K, that's the end of my tirade on that subject.
But I do want to add some stuff about the Leo thing that I talked about earlier! I was reading the paper today, and I read something along the lines of, "According to gossip columnists...Leo will not be attending the Oscars this year..." And then it had a quote from someone they interviewed who said that Leo would probably handle his fame really well. And this fine newspaper columnist commented, "Doesn't seem to be handling it too well so far," in reference to his snubbing the Oscars. Scuse me for living but I don't think it's any of our business whether he goes or doesn't go. I want to refer you all to my dear friend Alison's page: Alison's Wacky World. Read her tribute to Princess Diana, where she talks about how we, the public, took her life from her. That is exactly what we seem to be doing to every single celebrity alive.
