What is it about Jim Carrey that endears him to so many people?

His boyish charm? His outlandish wit? Or could it be his utter lack of fear, pushing him to go where others wouldn't dare? These are just some of the questions we, the team here at BIOrhythm, were asked to ponder.

While pondering, we searched endlessly for answers, because we knew that you, the highly emotive, extremely intelligent, white-knuckled, remote-gripping audience, would not stand for another dull, lifeless corpse of a biography show.

So, FYI, some things you will see:

  • Rare 'super 8' home movies.
  • The U.S. premiere of Jim's first Canadian TV appearance.
  • Jim's rockin' 1981 New Years Eve performance of Tom Jones's "Delilah."
  • Jim's "happy sock puppet."
  • Jim's barenaked ass.
  • Original 16mm footage shot for this episode.
Things you won't see:

  • The Heisman Trophy
  • Gang violence
  • Monica Lewinsky
  • Alaskan out-houses
  • Public restrooms
Our Carrey quest took us all the way back to Jacksons Point, a small fishing village in Ontario, Canada. It was there that 15-year-old Jim first decided he had to perform. But it would be another 17 years before he would reign at the box office with the hit movie Ace Ventura: Pet Detective. Would you believe that at one time he was homeless, or that he was forced to drop out of school so he could work as a janitor to help support his family? The man we love to laugh at struggled and turned his life around through sheer guts and determination. Take a trip through his very real dream world, from homeless school dropout to the highest paid star in Hollywood.

 All righty, then!
