LORD OF THE STRINGS (aka LORD OF THE G STRINGS-R RATED VERSION)
PLOT-Three female "Throbbits" set out on an adventure to destroy the sacred G-String, which holds irresistable lesbonic powers.
VIOLENCE-A few comedic battle scenes with no blood or fake limbs.
SEX/NUDITY-Occasional breast shots, and it fades to black every time a lesbo makeout scene begins.
WHY I WATCHED IT-I bought the unrated version of LORD OF THE G STRINGS back in March (read my review here), but was informed that the "edited" version would be released later, which has less sex but more comedy. Since the movie was already funny as hell, I definitely was anxious for some additional laughs.
THE DOPE-I'd almost forgotten that this version of G STRINGS was supposed to be coming out. Then, I was at the video store, and I see LORD OF THE STRINGS on the new release shelf. Nowhere on the box was Seduction Cinema mentioned...it said FOREST STREET ENTERTAINMENT instead! And there on the cover were Misty, AJ, and Darian, artfully covered up. Normally I would never stoop to watching the "rated" version of anything, but in this case, I knew what I was in for. LORD OF THE G STRINGS was an incredible movie, and right from the first movie I'd seen from director Terry West, I knew he was more than capable of delivering solid comedy that actually made me laugh. Granted, I know most people that watch Seduction Cinema flicks do not give a shit about the acting or the comedy, but I do. Dammit. To be honest, I fast-forward through the sex stuff and just watch the other parts of their films. There, I said it! I'm not ashamed. Anyway, LORD OF THE STRINGS has a lot of extra shit that's really hilarious (West himself plays a cowardly lion and a gay knight named Bruce), and with the sex toned down, STRINGS really really reminded me of MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL. Our heroes meet up with all kinds of funny situations on their quest, and the villains are also given more funny screen time. If you're like me, you appreciate the humor that goes into stuff like this. Read my G STRINGS review if you need examples of what I'm talking about. An SC flick that works without the sex and stands alone as a great comedy? You bet your ass it does!
MEMORABLE SCENES-I cannot say enough about Michael R. Thomas as Smirnoff The Wizard, and John Fedele as the evil SourAss. These guys are hilarious. Don't get me wrong, the ladies get their share as well, but mainly all play straight characters. Well, by "straight" I mean not goofy. They're all lesbians of course. Ah fuck it, so I'm not the best writer. You know what I mean.
DVD NOTES-Unfortunately, the great behind-the-scenes stuff from the G STRINGS disc isn't included here. Just 4 trailers and the "Punch The Clown" music video. However, if you go to the extas menu and press up till the leaf on the tree beside Anoushka is hilighted yellow, you can see several minutes of three supporting players getting ready for their scenes. They're the ones Misty, AJ, and Darian meet up with briefly, who have been sent on a quest for a halter top.
