This by no means is an endorsement for George W. Bush's presidency, although he is a very nice and personable man. I took these photographs the day then Governor Bush visited the high school where I am on staff. |
Here is one of the state troopers assigned to protect Bush... I was as impressed with these guys as I was with the Governor. Another trooper is behind & to the left of this one. | Troopers in our library planning their strategy. |
I walked up behind Bush & called out "Governor", he turned around, saw the camera & opened his arms as if to say, "taa dah". Then someone called out that my flash didn't work. That figures! | The governor autographed a book in our library that had information pertaining to him. That was classic. |
Media frenzy! Bush, as he entered our building. The line in the lower right corner is cut out of someone that was blocking my camera view. |

After visiting a classroom, Bush, heads toward the front door escorted by a student and the acting superintendent for Dallas Public Schools. |
I walked to the entrance as he was leaving. Someone told me to get with the group and have my photo taken with with the governor. I walked over and got behind someone, my favorite place in group photo's... When the Governor arrived for the shoot, he stepped behind me, placed his hands on my shoulders, and gently pushed me to the front row. Gees, how are you going to argue with the Governor?? I don't know if he was being kind because I'm short, or because someone was taking a photo with my camera, as well. It was very sweet though. At the time of his visit, I was reasonably sure he would be running for president, so it was quite an exciting experience. |
