What is media literacy? How does one even begin to define it? By believing eveything read, seen or heard in books/magazines, on TV, in movies or on the radio? Or does one attempt to break down the information presented draw one's own conclusions?
Simply put, media literacy is the ability to decipher information and codes within the various media formats.
The National Alliance for Media Arts and Culture (NAMAC), which was formed to support independent media arts organizations across the country, has attempted to raise media literacy awareness through various projects and publications.
