NAMAC

an analysis

According to the website, NAMAC has multiple goals.
Goal 1: Strengthen media arts organizations as an integral part of the community
Goal 2: Facilitate the support of independent media artists from all cultural communities and regions
Goal 3: Integrate media into all levels of education and advocate for media literacy as an educational goal
Goal 4: Promote humane uses of and individual access to current and future media technologies
Goal 5: Encourage media arts that are rooted in local communities, as well as those which are global in outlook

Ultimately, NAMAC is an organization interested in providing opportunities in the media fields, while also monitoring and providing media literacy education. Based on the members of the Board of Directors (911 Media Arts Center, Glaser Family Foundation, Independent Television Services, Street-Level Youth Media, Independent Media Arts Preservation, New Jersey Media Arts Center, Video Data Bank, Community Media Project, and NAATA), NAMAC also appears to be a liberal group. Many of the Board-related organizations are privately funded and are dedicated to non-commercial media production.
