Week Five Stats
Week Five Stats
11/1/02
Album of the week: America's Top 10 Through the Years: The Folk Years
Song of the week: (tie) Judy Collins - "Both Sides Now"; The Doors - "Light My Fire"
Video of the week: The Doors - "Light My Fire" (live on Ed Sullivan)
Download of the week: Judy Collins - "Both Sides Now" (record time, one minute or less)
Hangouts: Fishbowl, McKenzie Hall, Friendly Hall, I-5 (shamefully pitiful how often I go home)
Favorite class: Vis.Comm. & German
Favorite professor: anyone from the J school
Highlights of the week: hired by a student group as the new Design & Production Director (non-paid position), getting to see Grandman & Grandpa last weekend, shopping at Capital Mall (I love that place, even if I have to pay tax), except for shutting my finger in the car door (I can finally bend it again), wearing the skin off my feet with my Lucite shoes (they make concrete feel like carpet; I'm sticking to actual shoes/boots, nothing for looks), interviewed by the Emerald and freelanced an article (even though I didn't get the job, the whole experience rocked; my news editor rocked--he said my article was well-written, and he would have hired me if he was in charge of hiring); seriously hit on (it's been so long; I think I forgot how I'm supposed to act and probably scared him away. Damn, he was cute, too!); interview with the Housing Office (more graphic design)
"And the Oscar goes to..." When using the U-Scan at Fred Meyer, it's safe to assume this is true for all six-packs in cardboard cartons, that the barcode is on the bottom. So, don't do what I did and turn it over to find the barcode and spill beer all over the floor (and myself). Another reason I shouldn't bag my own groceries.
Couldn't survive without: milk, ice cream, red meat that you can't buy in the store, an occasional dip into Mom's cooking
Students on campus: Am I ever going to fit in?
Places I like to spend money: Fred Meyer, Ray's in Veneta, Valley River Center
Calls: still home; this week, it was people I need to interview.
Favorite building: Law, Allen, EMU, Knight Library
Least favorite: McKenzie, though climbing the stairs to the Emerald nearly gives me an asthma attack.
Best thing about driving to school: a place to stay warm, and a place to park
Worst thing: the stupid bikes and the damn construction (half of my street--fine, ALLEY!--is closed off, thank you)
Health no more migraines, just funny headaches, stomachaches (guess if you ate my cooking, you wouldn't feel good either)
Will i survive: well, it would be more fun if I wasn't so lonely 90% of the time
