Week Eight Stats

11/22/02

Album of the week: Janis Joplin - "Janis" (disc one)
Song of the week: Big Brother & the Holding Co. - "Misery'N", Janis Joplin - "Work Me, Lord" (live at Woodstock)
Video of the week: Madonna - "Die Another Day"
Download of the week: Cyndi Lauper - "All Thru the Night" (the song I officially killed my knees on), The Guess Who - "Broken"
Hangouts: Knight Library, the Fishbowl
Favorite class: Vis.Comm. & German
Favorite professor: anyone from the J school
Highlight of the week: interview at the Emerald (again, more graphic design), turned in apps at Dept. of Germanic Languages and KWVA (campus radio), another bloody protest (this one against the war that doesn't exist), awakened at 2:30am by someone doing a poor imitation of Darth Vader and hitting the mailboxes, found a dollar in the dryer and 20 extra dollars in my bank account, first time in 10 years I was able to squat from a standing position to the floor without kneeling (hey, if you'd had as many knee surgeries as me, you'd be excited too!)
Can't live without: milk, ice cream, cranberry juice, coke (the carbonated kind--thanks for the 12-pack, Mom; now I'm addicted again)
Money:Fred Meyer, Wal-Mart, UO Bookstore
Calls: Dad (I disabled the VCR! Oops!) and Mom (I gotta quit calling her at 9am!)
Favorite building: one that doesn't look older than me, doesn't smell like a wet dog, and doesn't have a big-ass crane attached to it
Least favorite: don't ask!
Driving: Last time I came "home" and went to Oly, I was driving on Tilley by Millersylvania, and there's a caution sign that says something like, "Pedestrians and Bicyclists for One Mile." With the exception of the STP, Washingtonians have no concept of bicyclists. I laughed so hard I nearly drove off the road.
Worst thing: knowing bikers in Oregon aren't quite as courteous those in Washington, especially at night when they wear dark clothes and don't stop at stop signs and yell at you when you don't see them and nearly run over them
Health: head's still attached. That's a plus.
Will I survive: Hey, I get to skip out of here at 10am on Wednesday. DUH!
