Summary
After Fitz's death, Kalas finds a new target: the
mythical 5,000-year-old immortal, Methos. Joe suggests that MacLeod talk
with Methos researcher Adam Pierson to track down the immortal before
Kalas finds him, and it turns out that Pierson is Methos. MacLeod offers
his protection against Kalas, but Methos won't accept the help. The
ancient immortal fights Kalas, barely escapes and finally offers his head
to MacLeod, saying with his strength, MacLeod can beat Kalas, but the
Highlander refuses. Methos goes to the police, telling them that Kalas
killed a Watcher, Don. So when MacLeod attacks Kalas, the police interrupt
the fight and arrest Kalas. MacLeod tells Joe who his friend really is,
but Methos already has vanished.
Quotes
Methos: "Duncan MacLeod of the clan MacLeod. Have a beer. Mi
casa es su casa."
MacLeod: "Methos?"
Methos: smiles and nods
MacLeod: "So have you, uh ..."
Methos: "Made any sense of it. Found any purpose."
MacLeod: "What, you read minds, too?"
Methos: "It's what I'd ask if I'd just met me."
MacLeod: "When was the last time you faced an immortal?"
Methos: "What are we ... sixth of March ... uh, two hundred
years."
Methos: "I cannot beat him. I have tried. He will take my head
and then he will have the strength to take yours."
MacLeod: "So after five thousand years, your only solution is that
I kill you?"
Methos: "He can beat me. He might beat you. He can't beat both of
us."
MacLeod: "If it's that simple, why don't you take my head?"
Methos: "Because it's not just a matter of who's the best fighter.
It is about passion, and hate. I don't have the fire. You do. You want
Kalas."
Methos: "Remember, Highlander, live. Grow stronger; fight
another day."
