Kalas escapes from prison with the accidental help of
Amanda, who intended to kill him as a favor to MacLeod. MacLeod and Amanda
begin the hunt for Kalas, who is determined to destroy everything the
Highlander loves. He kidnaps Amanda, but she escapes. Meanwhile, Methos
and Joe try to convince Don's widow, Christine, not to reveal the
existence of immortals to the world. She ignores their pleas and goes to
the newspapers with a CD-ROM that catalogues all the immortals. In a last,
desperate attempt to stop Christine, Joe tries to shoot her, but MacLeod
jumps in the way and takes the shot.
Part 2 Written by David Tynan | Directed by
Dennis Berry
Kalas kills Christine and a newspaper editor, stealing
the Watcher CD. He tells MacLeod that if Mac takes his head, the CD's
information will be sent to every major news agency on the planet. Methos
tries to convince MacLeod that all things change and he should not
sacrifice his head to keep the immortals' existence a secret. The final
fight between MacLeod and Kalas takes place on the Eifel Tower, and after
MacLeod wins, the tower amplifies the Quickening and shorts out
electricity in most of Paris -- it also destroys Kalas' computer and the
CD.
Quotes
Methos: "Immortals are part of history. They are part of the
truth."
Methos: "Give me a break, will you. What did you expect?
Einstein, Freud, Budda? Sorry Joe, I'm just a guy."
Methos: "People living forever, running around cutting each
other's heads off with swords ... It'll be filed away with alien
abductions and Elvis sightings."
Joe: "History's written. People have been known to kill the
messenger who waltzes in with a new version of the truth."
Methos: "Why would I tell the truth?"
Methos: "I was in Rome. 93 A.D. Colliseum. I saw Christians
facing the lions. Some of them looked almost happy to die for their
faith."
MacLeod: Your point? Or are we just strolling down memory lane?"
Methos: That afterwards, the only ones looking happy were the
lions."
Methos: "If you die, Amanda will be free to date."
