Summary

MacLeod's dream of a world in which he never existed continues. Tessa is alive, but she's married to a man she doesn't love, and she's very sad. After one night of real passion between MacLeod and Tessa, she asks him to leave. Meanwhile, Methos watches the Watchers kill the woman he loves, and then he sets his goodness aside and joins with Kronos. Methos takes Richie as his student and demands Richie kill Joe, but Richie cannot do it. As punishment, Methos takes his head as MacLeod watches. MacLeod then kills Methos in a rage. MacLeod wakes from the dream, more confident that he makes a positive difference in the world. Together, MacLeod and Methos go back, defeat O'Rourke and save Joe and Amanda. MacLeod takes back his sword, finally at peace with himself, and walks away into the mist.
