Transcripts CNN Showbiz Airdate: ??, 1999 *Transcribed by Ace* *Snaps made by Ace* PAUL RUCANON: Meet the lightning quick offspring of "Walker, Texas Ranger,""Sons of Thunder": two private investigators on duty in Dallas. Chuck Norris decided to spin-off the recurring characters on "Walker," played by Jimmy Wlcek and Marco Sanchez. CHUCK NORRIS: I saw these two guys playing off each other and I...and the chemistry that they had. I said, "You know, these guys are great!" I said,"If we could get the right concept together here, I think we could develop a,uh, tv series out of it." PR: So Norris is putting the duo through training and tough scenes. MARCO SANCHEZ: There's some bumps and bruises. [smiling] JIMMY WLCEK: [smiling] I broke, uh, my big toe twice so far, I almost lost my teeth [brings both hands up to his mouth] and scraped up my arms [rubbing right forearm with left hand] in Utah in a bike, uh, accident, uh, hurt my tailbone [reaching behind with left hand to touch "tailbone"] a couple of times. PR: Norris warned them. CN: "It's gonna be very physical and, uh, and it's gonna be very time consuming, it's very demanding. And, uh, well...and so, you guys...you guys are up for something like that?" And, of course, they said, "Yeah!" [laughs]And, uh, so, and they...but I have to say they've been real troopers. PR: But the creators point out "Sons of Thunder" is more than feet and fists. MS: It's a good, well-rounded show. It doesn't rely solely on action; um, it has a lot of humor in it. Um...and, yeah, it kicks ass, [Jimmy laughs off-screen] I won't lie to ya. [smiling broadly] CN: It's going to be airing on the "Walker" time slot, but they're not [points right index finger] replacing "Walker." [laughs] They are...we're just putting them in that time slot so the...my viewing audience can see what "Sons of Thunder" is all about. PR: A six-pack of episodes has been ordered. "Sons of Thunder" must now prove they're tough enough. Paul Rucanon, CNN Entertainment News, Hollywood. ~ End ~ |
