DENNIS STORHØI (Herger the Joyous) brings a wealth of experience from performances for film, television and stage productions in his native Norway, as he makes his American film debut in "The 13th Warrior." He starred as Sebastien the thief in the feature film "Kamilla og tyven" ("Kamilla and the Thief") as well as its sequel "Kamilla og tyven II," and has also starred in "Buicken" ("The Buick") and "Over stork og stein." On television, he starred in the popular series "Vestavind" as Wilhelm Ahlsen, and starred in "Fedrelandet." He also starred in the television adaptations of several plays including the musical "Let’s Twist Again" and the children’s play "Den fillete dokka." Storhoi’s voice performances have included hundreds of episodes for radio and children’s animated television series, as well as the Norwegian voice-over performances for the popular "Asterix" series (as Troubadourix) and Don Bluth’s feature, "All Dogs Go to Heaven," as the film’s lead, Charlie. Born in Norway, Storhoi graduated from the prestigious State Theatre School in Oslo in 1985. He joined Den Nationale Scene theatre company in Bergen and was immediately cast in leading roles in plays by Henrik Ibsen and Bertolt Brecht, as well as in Cooney and Chapman’s "Move Over Mrs. Markham." From 1986 to 1989 he was a member of the Rogaland Theatre, starring as Algernon Moncrief in "The Importance of Being Earnest," in Dostoevski’s "The Brothers Karamazov," in Israel Horowitz’s "An Indian Comes to the Bronx," as well as in Anouilh’s "Joan of Arc" and other works by Shakespeare and several Norwegian dramatists. He moved to Oslo in 1989, working with the National Theatre and the ABC Theatre before joining the Oslo Nye Theatre company, of which he is still a member. With the Oslo Nye Theatre, Storhoi has starred in "Pal Joey," "Arsenic and Old Lace," "Fathers and Sons," farces by Feydeau and J. B. Priestley, and, most recently, Wayne Hudson in Ben Elton’s "Popcorn." This year he starred as Frank in Inguar Ambjornsens’ staging of "Elling and Kjell Bjarne" (Norwegian critics and box office hit), and "Eve’s Eye" directed by Berit Nesheim. Beginning in September, though July, 2000, he will be starring in the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation’s television series "Soria Moria," in the lead role of Magnus Lunde.
