TIAN MEN

These photo's are taken in January 1989, I was there as a student to study Chinese language. Little did I know that on this square would happen a very tragic event six month's later. The photo's are taken using a early Eos Canon camera and the "poor" picture quality is due to the film which was Chinese, which I developed in my bedroom at the language institute. But it gives a certain dream quality to the pictures that I like.

I was in Beijing on the 6th. of June 1989.
