Pumpkin Porridge (Hobak Jook)

Ingredients:
Pumpkin, water, Rice, salt (sugar) *sweet potato (optional)

Directions:

(1)    Clean outside of a pumpkin. Cut as much as you want to cook and peel. Cut into large pieces.

(2)    Place them in a large pot and add water about ½ the amount of pumpkin. (If you like sweet potato, add chunks in the pot.)

(3)    Boil until the contents become pastelike.  Time varies by size of pumpkin and heat. 

(4)    Grind rice in a blender with water.  Well ground rice will look good in a bowl, but roughly grounded will give you something to chew. The amount of rice is really up to the cook.  But should not be more than pumpkin. 

(5)    Add ground rice into the pot and stir well until rice is cooked.

(6)  Add salt for taste.  If you like sweet taste, add sugar.

Serve hot or cold.
