This is the first Internet discussion group dedicated to the special issues in Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery in the DEVELOPING NATIONS of the world.
DENCATS Forum is primarily an INFORMATION NETWORK for sharing knowledge and experiences on developments and problems in the field of cardiac and thoracic surgery, especially those pertaining to the Developing Countries of the World.
The Forum was created to help in the exchange of ideas and information, to report modifications and innovations in surgical, anesthetic and perfusion techniques, and discuss cost-containment in health care and health policy.
The DENCATS Forum is accessible FREE (WITHOUT ANY PAYMENT !) by anyone in the world. All you need is an Internet connection through which you can browse the World Wide Web. Participation in the activities of the Forum is FREE to all authors and discussants.
Although there are other Internet sites on cardiothoracic surgery, their emphasis is on a different group of issues. In this site, an attempt will be made to concentrate on diseases and topics common to developing countries - for instance, rheumatic fever and valve disease, tuberculosis and tropical diseases, cost containment and primary prevention.
To become a member of the DENCATS forum, all you need to do is complete this simple online registration form.
