Well, my brother left for home today. Mom is already wondering where he
is. This happens every time he leaves and lasts for about two days. He
had to deal with her forgetting where she was all day yesterday. I finished
the lights and decorating inside today, mom really likes it and is looking forward
to Christmas (NEXT MONTH). She wants to go shopping tomorrow, maybe, if it
isn't raining too hard.

Mom and I went shopping today. She loved it. She picked out all the
gifts herself and really enjoyed all of the activity. We had lunch out
also. She was pretty tired when we got home but, I think getting out
did her alot of good.

I think that mom's AD is progressing again. Physically she is fine but, she is getting alot
more confused about just everyday things. We went out tonight to look
at all the Christmas lights, she had fun but, didn't really know where
she was or why she was there. She has started roaming at
night again, looking for her children and the EXIT. This scares me
because I am afraid that she will fall again. I have started staying up
all night now, she has her best hours of sleep in the early a.m., so do I.
Something about the nighttime, the darkness, bothers AD people, yet she
has a light on at all times.

Mom is doing better at night now, not so much roaming around. It feels
good to be able to get some sleep.

We went out looking a lights again, mom enjoyed it alot. She actually
knew that there were more up than the last time. She got a card from
her middle granddaughter, Laura, she cried and laughed. I will be glad
when the holidays are over, it is tooooo much of a drain on all of us.
My brother will be down tomorrow, he can take over for awhile.

Tonight has been a good night. Mom knows that it is Christmas Eve and
can't wait for tomorrow. She thinks everything looks so nice.

Christmas Day was pretty good. We got up early, opened gifts and had
breakfast. Mom really liked all of her gifts (I was happy that she got
more night gowns :-) The family was up for dinner and games, mom joined in.
It was a hard day for her, she kept thinking about grandma. I am so
glad that I had mom for at least one more Christmas.
