The links below are to sites that provide an educational and enlightened understanding about human sexuality, gay, lesbian and bisexual issues, and sexual relationships. For use by adults age 18 and over, these links have been selected for their therapeutic and educational benefits to researchers and therapists specializing in human sexuality issues.
Additional Resources and Advice on Sexuality Issues
Please note that additional links on human sexuality advice and information are available in my counseling & wellness room. Several e-zines on sexuality and culture are also available in my Library Reading Room.
Sexuality is intertwined with gender issues and relationships and should be considered as socially-constructed and culturally-defined, not simply the product of "biology" or "nature". Understanding sexuality necessarily invites a close examination of the meanings individuals attach to gender and to how these meanings and identities shape the way people interact and envision one another. In addition to the resources in this collection, visitors to Scott's Library are encouraged to tour these other collections:
- Gender Studies Links
- Interpersonal Relationships Links
- Web Links Monthly Feature for May: "Articles and Web Sites on the Interplay of Gender, Sexuality, and Interpersonal Relationships"
Two new surveys (August 1997) of sexuality are available on the web, and interested visitors and researchers are invited to view and complete them. They are:
- Survey of Sexuality Across the Lifespan (Univ. of Utah)
The University of Utah Department of Psychology is conducting an online study of "sexuality across the lifespan", which invites men and women aged 35 and older to complete a confidential questionnaire about sexual behavior and orientation.
- Survey Questionnaire for Married Gay and Bisexual Men (Univ. of Western Sydney/Macarthur, Australia)
The University of Western Sydney, Macarthur Department of Psychology is sponsoring an online survey of married men in the following groups: (1) heterosexually married men who have sex with men sometimes, or who have strong fantasies about having sex with other men; OR (2) homosexually identified men who have ever been heterosexually married.

Though in many ways bisexuals are thought of as an "invisible minority", it seems that the Internet is enabling bisexuals to become both visible and better connected with one another.
This collection below will help others who have been seeking more information and references for further research on bisexuality. If you are seeking articles on bisexual issues and identity, be sure to review those references I've collected in my Web Links collection of articles and websites devoted to gender, sexuality, and relationships.
I'd also like to recommend a book for getting you started: Bi Any Other Name: Bisexual People Speak Out, a collection edited by Loraine Hutchins and Lani Kaahumanu. Published in 1991, it's become somewhat of a classic in the field.
