Visit of the "Visitador General", 4th of March of 1598:
" He visited the Hospital of this Village which found badly repaired in special the kitchen where warm up the poor men, thus he ordered to decorate the kitchen putting around home banks fixed in the ground so that the poor men can sit and ordered the "hospitalero" under penalty of excommunication and of 4 ducados applied for the this Hospital that he does not put his donkey there nor another kind thing remembering that it is for the remedy of the poor men and not to serve as a stable. "
" I order the this butler of this Hospital that before a month buys eight bedspreads for the beds and twelve mall pillows for the shelter and repairs of the beds and soon decorate it... "
" I order to the "hospitaleros" that do not
receive in this hospital men nor women who say that are husband and wife if it is not that
first they do show the documents of it the priest or a mayor... and either receive other
people if they do not bring license of the aforesaid ones to enter this hospital unless
they come very late at night... you do not welcome vagabonds... to the poor men... good
words and to not speaks them with pride because the little poor represent Christ Our Lord.

Visit of the "Visitador General", 4th of March of 1598:
" I order under penalty of excommunication and of 20
ducados applied for english war expenses to the mayors and "regidores" of
this village who nobody is dared to open the door of the tower of the Church of the lord
San Juan of this this village to toll to cloudy nor to other things if it did not go
calling to the verger for it, and if the verger does not have closed this door of the
tower together with the door the priest must punish him by each time with one
"real" applied for the lamp of the Santísimo Sacramento - and the same it is
understood on the other churches of this village. "
Visit of the Bishop to 16th of June of 1618:
"... by brothers of the Brotherhood of the lord San Juan of this village request appeared before us by which is requested that the landed property and other properties of this Brotherhood we will annex and apply to the church of San Juan and undid the brotherhood becouse to have four or six brothers and becouse other inconvenient reasons that they meant to us, and the same requested the brothers of the Brotherhood of San Pedro and San Andrés so also we were served to apply the property from such brotherhoods to the the church of San Pedro and that also will stop and undid the brotherhood. "
Brotherhood of the Cross and Hermitage of the Humilladero
Book "Apeos de las Fábricas..." 1798:
" House
In where the brothers of this Brotherhood join themselves whenever they make meetings to
treat and to confer the things concerning the useful and the benefit of the brotherhood,
that was given to the Brotherhood by Toribia Cleméntez, with the charge of a sung mass
every year and that is in the narrow street that comes down from the street of Oteruelo de
Arriba to the one of Mediavilla. He is contiguous by the East with barn of the heirs of
José Revilla (6 twigs), by the west with the street of Oteruelo de Arriba (6 twigs), by
the south with this narrow street, where he has his fore door (20 twigs) and by the north
with corral of the heirs of Francisco Pastor (20 twigs) ".
" Hermitage of Humilladero
When entering of the way of Belmonte outside the town. It is contiguous to the East with
this way, to the west with the stream that comes down from the water drainage of San Juan
to the river, to the south with threshing floor of Tomasa Cuadrillero, to the north with
the Church of San Juan ".
Visit of the "Visitador General", 4th of March of 1598:
" He personally visited the hermitage of San Antonio that is done again... "
" I order the officials and brothers of this brotherhood that more down put in the hermitage an altar with santo of San Antonio plastering the hermitage and putting it with decencia doing windows to the sides one next to the altar and other as it agrees more. "
"... they sell the wood that it has... and its value
used in land properties or another thing that give benefit for the this hermitage and
hospital... "
Hermitage of Our Lady of the Knoll
Visit of the "Visitador General", 4th of March of 1598:
"... he visited the Hermitage of Our Lady of the Knoll and found that the room that is in the vestibule it is presently a barn, thus he ordered, under penalty of excommunication and of four ducados to the butler of this hermitage that soon does close the door where it is the barn and in no way it is opened neither puts straw nor another thing by the indecencia... "
" and because Pedro Agúndez I bequeath butler of this hermitage has allowed it... I condemn to him in 6 real ones of pain. "
"... I order to make a key of the door of the tower and always keep closed. "
"... I order to decorate the casulla of white Damascus as necessary. "
"... I order to made a chalice of silver to say mass in this hermitage. "

Visita a 3 de noviembre de 1603:
Eran mayordomos Mancio de Valverde y Bartolomé Alonso.
Había una deuda de 400 reales con la iglesia de S. Juan.
"...halló que unas verjas que había en dicha ermita para que no entrase en ella el ganado estaban desfocadas y a ... se recogía el ganado de la dicha iglesia."
Visita a 2 de agosto de 1606:
"...visitó su mrd. la iglesia de nra. ssª del Otero de esta Villa y las cuentas de su fábrica y las aprobó...
"... los mayordomos de la dicha ermita dieron a hacer un cáliz de Plata a Fulano Corrales platero de Palencia y no lo ha hecho... por lo cual mando a los mayordomos Clérigo y lego que pidan al dicho platero... del contrato y obligación... con apercibimiento en la primera Visita serán castigados y pagarán los 300 reales de su casa si no lo hubieren cobrado y hecho las averiguaciones necesarias."
"... mando se haga un frontal de raso o damasco colorado o blanco para adorno del dicho altar. Y así mismo mando se compre un velo de toquilla para el Cristo que está en la Capilla de la mano derecha de la dicha iglesia."
Visita del Obispo, en 1639:
"Primeramente quiso tomar cuentas al cura Vega de 300 ducados que dicen haber quedado de remanente de la iglesia de nra. ssª del Otero aunque el dicho cura no confiesa más de 96049 mrs."
Visita del Visitador General en 1640:
"Y asimismo tomó su merced la cuenta del despojo de
Nra. Señora del Otero y halló estar cargados en los libros de las fábricas de San Pedro
y San Juan a los mayordomos 65264 mrs. además del ladrillo y teja y madera que se trajo
para las dichas iglesias del despojo. Y asimismo parece se han de constar 800 reales que
se dieron por deshacer la dicha iglesia con lo que está cargado a los mayordomos monta
92464 mrs, que añadida esta partida la teja, ladrillos y madera que se dio... Y asimismo
dio su merced las casullas y ornamentos que compró el cura Vega y halló no haber dado
por ellos más del justo precio."
Visita del Obispo a 16 de junio de 1618:
"Por cuanto hemos hallado que en esta villa hay 2 montes
de piedad, uno de 86 cargas y 3 fanegas de trigo y otro de 40 cargas de trigo, que
fundaron Juan de Valverde y Antonio Agúndez, cura que fue de la dicha Villa, y ambos a
dos tienen muy mala administración y por gobernarse distinta y separadamente cada uno
mayor costa. Por tanto ordenamos y mandamos que la obra pía que dejó y fundó el dicho
Antonio Agúndez... se junte con la de 86 cargas y se administre por los patronos de ella
que son el cura más antiguo y el alcalde ordinario y se recoja todo en la panera que
dejó el dicho Ant. Agúndez y la dicha panera tenga tres llaves..."
Visita del Visitador General, a 4 de marzo de 1598:
"... cada sábado se diga en la Iglesia de Nuestra Señora del Castillo una misa que dejó fundada el cura Lobón que aunque eran más misas se redució a una cada sábado..."
Visita a 2 de agosto de 1601:
"...fui informado que en este dicho lugar había un abuso y mala costumbre en que algunas personas del dicho lugar en habiendo contrato y escritura de casarse y desposarse sin dar las manos por ante el Párroco de las iglesias del dicho lugar y casi con solas las municiones se juntaban y cohabitaban lo cual era en grave daño y escándalo."
"...fui informado que los cofrades y mayordomos llevaban las insignias del Santo Crucifijo a sus casas y las tenían indecentemente y con poco respeto, habiéndolas de tener en la iglesia donde es su propio lugar."
"...que los hijos sigan confesando y comulgando en la iglesia donde los recibieron sus padres durante que no se casen... que ningún cura admita parroquiano ajeno si no es que sea de su iglesia."
Visita del Obispo en 1630:
"Que no tengan los clérigos criada que no sean de 40 años."
"Que no entren mujeres en la sacristía."
"Que se allane el suelo de la iglesia de San Pedro."
"Que se hagan dos imágenes dentro de cuatro meses. Otrosi por cuanto hallamos en la dicha iglesia dos imágenes de San Blas y de Santa Lucía que por su antigüedad tienen notable deformidad con que no pueden causar devoción alguna, mandamos al cura que exorte a los vecinos de limosna hagan otras dos de figura honesta, decente, y que cause devoción. Y no lo cumpliendo dentro de cuatro meses primeros siguientes mandamos al dicho cura haga quitar las dichas imágenes antiguas y enterrar en lugar decente, lo cual hubiéramos ejecutado, como con otras imágenes de talla que hallamos antiguas, si no atendiéramos que sobre las dichas de San Blas y Santa Lucía son de particular devoción para enfermedades agudas y de contagio... Y lo mismo mandamos... cumpla el cura de la iglesia de San Juan con la imagen de talla
