Bruce had an appointment with his oncologist yesterday. Bruce's blood counts show that the kidney failure is progressing, despite Bruce being on continuous Prednisone for the past month. :(
Bruce's onc. is referring Bruce to a gastroenterologist (because of the PET/CT scan showing something in the rectal area), a nutritionist (because of the worsening proteinurea), a dermatologist for a biopsy (Bruce's funky rash is back, but worse than before), and possibly a rheumatologist (Bruce has been having severe finger/hand spasms lately). Bruce also had to have some special blood work done yesterday after his appointment. His onc thinks there's some kind of immunological thing going on that's causing ALL of the problems. The question is, WHAT?
Bruce has an appointment with his nephrologist on Aug. 4th.

Bruce's onc called and Bruce's magnesium is low, so he has to start taking a prescription supplement for that.
Here is Bruce's schedule of upcoming appointments. I'll let you know any test results, as we get them. We'd like to express a special thank you our friend, Dave, for providing Bruce with transportation to so many of his appointments! Dave is the type of person that doesn't wait to be asked, but insists on offering assistance the moment he suspects there's a need. Thanks Dave! :)
